Jess looked sick as David reported back but managed to keep her cool, a part of her still numb from the horrors of the last week. Her expression turned to one of concern and dread as she looked around, half expecting them to get ambushed as well. "If The Grey recently killed these kids..." She murmured. "We're not that far from the base, David. With their level of technology, they must know we're here. So...why haven't they attacked us and destroyed us yet?" To her credit, Jess stayed calm though her voice had risen in pitch slightly. She cradled her shotgun, finger resting over the trigger, ready to defend herself at a moment's notice. There wasn't much to see in the dark, the moon casting an eerie glow around the world. Her already on edge mind, turned shadows into alien shapes that disappeared as she blinked rapidly. Stay calm. Stay Calm. She ordered herself, taking several slow deep breaths.
