I have a concept for my character.  He is the Sheriff, but he is (basically) the enforcer for the family.  He once was a decent and law abiding servant of the people. He saw though that playing by the rules not only got him nowhere, but it was also costing his parents their farm. So he saw how things were going  in the county and decided to throw in with the mobsters.
