At 68.3 meters long, it was a veritable mobile base. There would surely be enough munitions for them. He made a mental note to search for any sniper ammunition he could find, suspecting that he'd need it very soon. The longer range he could engage the Forerunner mechs, the better. Experience had taught him that they were very dangerous machines at close to moderate ranges, but they were generally not optimized for long-range combat.

In the distant past, it was true that ancient humans were rivals of the Forerunner Ecumene in terms of power and technology, but humanity had far to go in order to reclaim that ancient mantle. Even the covenant were no match for the sheer scale of the Forerunner's resources; even extinct, they were still able to plague the human race, and the galaxy at large. A handful might still be alive, but for almost all intents and purposes, their species had gone extinct many millennia ago.
