Today I found out my paternal grandfather had one eye removed due to a cancerous growth. He had a hole in his retina and apparently over time it got infected and such and the pain was too much to tolerate.

As of late, my father has been having eye issues so he went to an optometrist who stated he had a hole in his retina. He went to a retina specialist and thankfully the optometrist was wrong and apparently all he has is some scar tissue.
