Her father had been happy to forget her until he learned about Jess. He still didn't care about her. She was just a means to an end. He wanted the empath. She wasn't going to simply play along. She was a fighter. She wasn't going to give in just because he want to make hard.

Frustration and guilt flashed through Roxy. She knew she wasn't responsible for what her father did but he always made her feel like she was.
