Character you have created: Christopher “Chris” Arthur III Alias: Iron Knight. Also known by: Daedalos Mk. 5, Project Theophonos (god-slayer) Speech Color: Standard Forum Text, Silver (C0C0C0) Character Alignment: Hero Identity: Public. Character Personality: As a playboy billionaire, Christopher beats his drums at his own tempo. He’s business by day, party by night, although he allows his leaned back nature bleed into his business affairs. Beyond his business life, Christopher enjoys Greek culture and history, utilizing his companies funds to support archaeological digs in search of new finds in this field, even though they are rare. He is also protective of his half-sister, since she is his only family left (see Origin Info/Details for more info). Uniform/costume:
Due to his side interest in ancient Greece (and history in a lesser extent), his armor has some influences from these time periods. The helmet in the suit shows this influence the best, since it resembles the helmet of the classical Greek hoplite. His armor also has an energy-powered long sword, inspired by the knights from the Medieval period. He also has a weapon what he calls the “Energy Javelin”, which was inspired by both the Homeric combat in the Iliad, where the Heroes would first throw a spear at one another before they engaged in hand-to-hand combat, and the Roman Pila, which would break on contact so that an enemy could not revenge kill with it. His armor has other, more conventional weapons, but these are the “out of the box” ones. At first, I kind of struggled with what I wanted Iron Knight’s armor to look like. I knew I didn’t want him to look just like Iron Man. Furthermore, I had an idea in my head what I wanted it to look like, but I could not put it down in words or even draw it out. After a little brainstorming, I remembered that I saw my brother and his friend either looking at or making a website about Gundam Wing (I cannot remember which, I was still fairly young). Although I found out that they were giant robots from doing some internet research (but it doesn’t’ surprise me, since it is a Japanese show), I still thought it gave the robotic feel I wanted. I just would have to scale it down to human size (i.e. like Iron Man in a way). Therefore, I placed a link to an image that I thought could be used as an inspiration for the suit (but obviously not an exact copy). There are several changes I would make to the suit. First, the Greek hoplite inspired helmet (it would look like a hoplite helmet, but there would not be any openings in the front, and there would not be a plume). I would remove the wing-like attachments on the shoulders, and everything below the waist would resemble Ultimate Iron Man more than the sample image. I would probably make the breastplate more flat and all the joints would have to be made so that a man could fit inside the suit. Also, the color scheme would be different shades of gray. The Arthurs were an extremely wealthy Virginian family, with its wealth tied both from inheritance from their ancestors and profit from the Arthur’s corporation, the Knight’s Corp. At age 16, Christopher graduated from MIT, specializing in Advanced Robotics and Electrical Engineering (he also picked up a minor in ancient Greek from a local college). Two years later, he received his Master’s. Christopher started to work in the Robotics Division at Knight’s Corp. However, after his first graduation from college, Christopher’s life was turned upside down. His father had been involved in an affair for several years, which resulted in a child being born outside of wedlock. After Christopher received his Master’s degree, his father divorced his current wife and married his mistress. Five years later, a deranged Medea returned and killed herself along with Christopher’s father and his stepmother, leaving Christopher and his half-sister orphaned (who in their right mind would divorce someone by the name of Medea? That’s just asking for trouble). As a result of his father’s death, Christopher inherited both his family’s wealth along with his father’s company. While Christopher did not have problem socializing with people through his life, he never allowed people to become extremely close to him, except for his childhood friend, Cynthia. While Christopher’s accelerated education robbed them of attending middle and high school together, they both continued to remain in contact. While Cynthia was by no means as intelligent as Christopher was, she was still quite smart for the average American student (top 5 in her graduating class) and she was a nice change of pace to talk to when you are constantly surrounded by super-geniuses. While Christopher desired that they became something more than just “friends”, but he did not want to risk ruining their current friendship if a romantic relationship did not work out. Even they went their separate ways, with Christopher running his father’s company and Cynthia becoming an Archaeologist, they still continued to find a way to keep in contact, even if it has to be emails and IM’s. If someone asked him why he dubbed his armor “Daedalos”, he would give his usual response, that some terrorists in the Aegean held him up on an island and he created the suit to fly away, just as Daedalos fled from King Minos of Crete in Greek Mythology. However, this wasn’t the true story. Two years ago (from the beginning of this RP), his childhood friend developed a rare, but fatal and inoperative cancer. Christopher frantically developed his prototype robotic exoskeleton, designing it to keep her alive, while the chemotherapy, that would normally could not be used, destroyed the cancer. Christopher called the exoskeleton “Daedalos” because he hoped it would help free Cynthia from her cancer, just as Daedalos’s invention helped him escape Minos. However, Cynthia died before he could get his final product finished. Shortly after his friend’s death, S.T.R.I.K.E. approached Christopher about his exoskeleton. They wanted Christopher to develop it into a mechanized armor that would allow normal humans to compete with the rising metahuman population, just in case something went out of hand. Since Christopher had already sunk a huge amount of his company’s resources into this project, he couldn’t say no.
Season 1 Summary:
Chris has been used by S.T.R.I.K.E. as one of their special forces for taking on metahuman threats that the regular S.T.R.I.K.E. squads could not handle. One such threat was Nightmare, a metahuman who was gathering allies and were causing several massacres in Lost Haven. Other threats includes the D-Day invasion of Lost Haven and the Pax Metahumana Crisis. One day, the minions of Doctor Diplodoc broke into Chris' mansion in Richmond and kidnapped his half-sister, Veronica. By using a tracking system that he had implanted in his half-sister, Chris followed the signal to an abandoned factory in West Virginia. Once there, he helped free his half-sister, along with a few other captives. However, other than Veronica, the other captives were placed in a temporary custody while they waited to be picked up by S.T.RI.K.E. When those individuals happened to disappear without a trace, Chris left the investigation to S.T.R.I.K.E. because holding those individuals captives in the first place was pretty borderline illegal. Days later, some idiot opened a portal between our world and a dimension similar to what we would imagine as hell. During this event, the heroes of Lost Haven rallied together to fight the interdimensional beings and close the portal. Once the portal was closed, it was simply mop-up work until the invaders were vanquished. Weeks after that, the scientist, Doctor Diplodoc, announced to the world that he planned to transform everyone on earth into metahumans. As the heroes of Lost Haven searched the city to find the device that Doctor Diplodoc had hid in that city, Chris decided that the best option was to assemble a team of heroes to take down this "terrorist". After the heroes had either destroyed or deactivated Doctor Diplodoc's devices, he sent the heroes to the doctor's base, the same place where Chris had first found his sister and the other captives. Once the doctor had surrendered, Chris handed him over to the proper authorities. Finally, once Nightmare showed his ugly face in Lost Haven, again, Chris teamed up with Icon, Lyger, the Aquilifer, Radiance, and Ramsey to take Nightmare and his allies down, once and for all. After Nightmare had absorbed his allies into himself, going full "final boss mode" on the them, the heroes combined their strength until they vanquished this monster that had taken countless lives since his arrival in Lost Haven.
Season 2 Summary:
When the heroine named Archangel disappeared off the face of the planet, Chris discovered that she was actually an android who used her suits and machines to pass as a human. During the grand opening of an exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Chris thought he saw the ghost of Archangel, despite knowing she was a machine. Yet, it turned out to be a woman named Maya Hoffman, the daughter of a famous Egyptologist. After the Game Genie’s failed attack on Pacific Point, Chris flew out to help S.T.R.I.K.E. to investigate the situation. During this visit, he teamed up Slipstream to take down a few goons working for the Hounds of Humanity, a group that would soon become a real headache for Chris and the superhero community. Later, Chris attended a charity event at the Roy Walley Convention Hall with Maya Hoffman, where he ran into Aubrey Adkins. The evening event began without a hitch, but later the festivities were interrupted by a villain named Newton. He used his gravity powers to distract the police and Arachne. Then he kidnapped Maya and left Chris with a bloody forehead and a bruised ego. Arachne went after Newton, while Chris went about getting the people stranded on the roof down safely when his armor arrived. When he had almost finished his rescue mission, Arachne returned with Maya, safe and sound.

After Chris returned home from Pacific Point, he was faced with two mysteries. First was the Hounds of Humanity, who had recently revealed themselves on national television. Second, the mysterious case of the Game Genie and Newton having memories of an alternative reality. However, he would not have much time to investigate either because the Judicator, one of the big guns of the Hounds of Humanity, attacked his mansion with a bunch of HoH goons. During the fight, the Hounds fired one of Archangel’s abandoned orbital strike satellites, both destroying Chris’ mansion and putting Chris in a coma. While Chris was in his coma at the hospital, the Hounds tried to finish him off for good, but Maya intervened and stopped the goon sent to off Chris in his hospital bed. This Hound soldier took his own life instead being taken into police custody, taking Maya’s secret of being a Nagi to the grave. Meanwhile, Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, was figuring out how she could set in motion a plan to get Chris back into the game. After contemplating a couple options, she settled on manipulating the Son of Osiris into healing Chris. She there sent Cupid to plant a device in Maya’s apartment that would trap Maya’s mind in one of Archangel’s abandoned robot chassis. When the Son of Osiris went to Poseidon Energies to heal the hero Hound Dog (no relations with the Hounds), he ran into Maya, trapped in the Archangel armor. Through the Son of Osiris’ powers, Chris is awakened from his coma and ready to fight the Hounds. Now that Chris was out of his coma, he immediately set out to recruit heroes to shut down the Hounds for good. Chris had attached nanotech to the costumes of the heroes who had assembled to foil Doctor Diplodoc’s plot to bestow superpowers to everyone in the world. He sent a message to those heroes to assemble at Sherman Square. And many heroes came. Yet as the heroes assembled, the Hounds launched a preemptive strike, led by the Judicator, against them. An epic battle ensued, but the heroes prevailed. While Icon led some heroes into space to destroy the “Finger of God,” Chris led the rest of the heroes against the remaining Hounds. Once Chris and these heroes captured Travis Murdock, the leader of the Hounds, the great danger the Hounds posed was over.

After the heroes had taken care of the Hounds’ threat, Chris finally had time to investigate the incidents in Pacific Point from before the Hounds’ attacks. He soon realized that the quantum vibrations of the Game Genie and Newton’s cells did not match the readings from his controls. With this knowledge, Chris designed a prototype to restore the quantum vibrations of an affected individual to its natural state. During his first successful test of a device for detecting affected individuals, he ran into Wasp and Bast, or at least alternate versions of them. With both metahuman women volunteering for the procedure, Chris was successful to restoring Kelly and Sammy’s minds.

After the events of D-Day, Pax Metahumana, and the Hounds’ attacks, Chris decided it was about time to assemble a team of heroes to face these world-threatening events. He got into contact with Icon and they made plans on forming this group of Earth’s mightiest heroes. Chris was tasked with recruit Voyager and Slipstream, both residents of Pacific Point. Convincing both heroes to join was not a problem for Chris at all. After Icon had contacted Terra Firma and Lyger and was contacted by the Vigilante, the Guardians were born.
Hero Type: Power-Suit / Gray Matter (Super-Smart) Power Level: C. Sample Post:
The cold wind chilled Colonel Cornwall as he paced around an observation bunker situated within the Nevada desert. He quickly glanced at his watch and groaned at what he saw. “Damn Billionaires, why can’t they have any sense of time? They should learn that the solar system is heliocentric, not egocentric.” Suddenly, a television monitor switched on within the room, revealing an image of a well-dressed man. “Welcome, Colonel Cornwall, to an exclusive demonstration of the Daedalos Mark Four. I hope you sit back, relax, and enjoy your buttered popcorn that can be found at the nice concession stands to the rear of the theater. Please enjoy!” “Can this guy take anything seriously?” Finally, a robotic exoskeleton burst from the ground, flying straight up into the air. Once it reached the apex of its launch, it looped toward the ground until it straightened itself so that it was parallel to the ground. On the ground in front of the exo-suit were several metallic targets. Immediately after the suit reached the targets, it launched several missiles, piercing each target straight through the middle. The exoskeleton performed a crash down strike on the final target, smashing it with its fist. In quick succession, the armor launched itself back into the air, darting towards a metallic structure that was beginning to collapse. Instantaneously, several rockets flew straight towards the armor, homing in for the killing blow; however, a blue energy shield appeared around the exoskeleton deflected every last one. The suit landed near one of the falling pillars that supported the collapsing structure, attempting to support the weight of the building. A small laser popped out from the suit, welding the pillar back in its place. The suit repeated this action on all the pillars, saving the almost-doomed building. After the performance was completed, the Colonel stepped outside of the bunker, waiting for the armor to land. “While it is totally clear that that armor can perform several different tasks, there is still one more question. So, Mr. Arthur, how does it performed against them meties*.” However, when the helmet of the suit retracted, the Cornwall was shocked to discover that Christopher Arthur, CEO of Knight’s Corp was NOT the man controlling the suit. “Sorry Colonel Cornwall,” the pilot said, “Mr. Arthur left for Brazil on quite a short notice. Unless you really want to bother him with an international phone call, you would probably have to wait until he comes back.” “What is God’s name is he doing in Brazil?” ---- * Meties = Metahumans (similar to Muties = Mutants).
