[b][Description]:[/b] The 5th Duchess of the Fusstlova line. She is a large (3'9" at the withers), green-coated mare with white and river blue hair. Both in her mane and on her tail. She was brought home from boarding school early with the assasination of her mother, Foresight. Her status as Heir Apparent had been a distant thing - before. But, as she walked the then-lonely halls of the river palace. She was forced to confront the world and her role. She would not have an adult life before her rule. She was forced to study, hard, and she struggled underneath the pressure. But, after a year of grueling study. She finally, fully received her rights and the responsibilities they entailed. While still barely an adult, at the age of seventeen. She has grown into an optimistic, kind ruler and the magical prodigy as all Fusstlovas before her. Adored by the Riverpony masses and respected by the nobility beneath her. Serenity's reign would be uneventful. A return to a period of stability in the Riverlands after the turbulence of Foresight's rule. If not for the deteriorating situation beyond the Duchy.

[b][Foible]:[/b] Skullduggery. She is a merciful and moral person, bound by a personal code and the laws of the land. She will, eventually prove unable to make the right decision when harsh action is necessary. Her downfall will be from her thoughtful and kind nature. Even if only in part. This is not to say that Serenity is incapable of violence. But, if she is to slay someone or sign a warrant for their death. It will be for a good reason, when no other choice is feasible, and in service of the lawful good.[/hider]

[b][Name]:[/b] The Riverlands
[b][Description]:[/b] A species of miniature fae horsefolk with a pension for the arcane and a youthful, unfaltering love for the whole of creation. They originate beyond the lands of Paigeturne, and have faced unspeakable injustices from the (ab)human world around them. No less than six generations ago: the Riverlands were ruled by a foreign inequine despot. One that brutally extracted value from the land and the labour of its inhabitants. Regardless of their clearly apparent personhood, and all in the service of the wealthy (ab)humans within and beyond the Riverlands. Instead of continuing to submit to the tyranny of the outsider. The Riverponies rose in rebellion. Lead by the learned and powerful pony mage, Kiarra. The peasantry's pain was directed into focused action. Aided by a select few human conspirators. The Duchy would collapse underneath the weight before the wider Kingdom could marshal a response. To avoid the spread of rebellious fervor: the King was forced to approach the negotiating table. An uneasy compromise was struck, and the rebel Kiarra would ascend into the position of the Riverlands's Duchess. Her title would pass down the generations, through female primogeniture. Ponykind itself is divided into three kinds. Earthen or "normal" ponies, those without wings or a horn. They are sturdier than their sisters. But appear to lack any magical ability to the untrained. However, the Earthen hold a special connection and sensitivity to the world. This makes them good seers, farmers, and healers. Pegasus ponies are those with two small, feathery wings. They have a more lithe build than other ponies and are capable of flight, despite their short wingspans. They are not only capable of flight: but also fluttering or hovering, and can treat clouds as solid material. This allows pegasi to (in conjunction with numerous others) alter the shape and location of clouds. This allows for the regulation of weather, to suit ponykind's needs. Most pegasi are weatherponies and support agriculture in the Riverlands. Pegasi also compose some large part of the Duchess's River Guard.  Finally but not least are the unicorns. Ponies with spiral horns protruding from the forehead capable of channeling the arcane energies of the world. Where most mages must speak incantations, wave their hands, or otherwise act. The unicorn mage need only think about the "components" of her spell. This is natural, instinctual to unicorns. Although their capabilities can be greatly improved by study of magical theory. Most unicorns are farmers or artisans. But, in the Riverlands's courts, unicorns are known for their scholarly wisdom and fine manners. More-so than the low-ranking nobility of the other kinds.

[b][Description][/b]: The younger sister of Serenity. Rosepluck is receiving tutoring while also serving as Serenity's Court Apothecary.

[b][Class][/b]: Magician (Divination)
[b][Description][/b]: A foreigner even to the Riverponies - a "zebra". Zenni lived as a hermit in the wilderness of western Paigeturn. When she caught the attention of the nearest town: she frightened them with her odd ways. She is an expert in alchemy, divination, and enchantment. All while appearing to be a normal Earthen mare. Save for her distinctive black-white stripes. This, combined with her odd mannerisms and tendency to dress in veils, eventually pushed the guard garrison to action. They combined the woods with blade and torch, and set Zenni under arrest for suspicion of dark magic. When Amberskies heard about it: she immediately had Zenni brought to the Duchess. After some investigation and interrogation, Zenni was unshackled and employed in Serenity's court. She is specifically the Riverland's Seer. But she is also a great storyteller and is helping in the education of young Rosepluck.
