Victoria understood where Vail was coming from. But she was also headstrong and he wasn’t her husband to make decisions for her, even if they came from a good place and with love. She barely knew the Moncouriers to send them in her stead, even if they were kind of family, she couldn’t trust Francois because of what he put her mother through, though they had since reconciled due to the situation. She did not expect Vail to like or agree with her idea so when she met his gaze, there was only disappointment in her eyes. Not with Vail but her own weaknesses standing in the way of her doing what she wanted. “I understand that Vail, but they risked their lives to get us out of there alive.” Although ironically, she was dead at the time. “I cannot simply wait around and do nothing.” She was clearly upset and emotional about the situation by the way her eyes welled up with tears. “I’ll go alone.” James stepped forward and offered to go for her. “Vail is right, you’re too fragile right now. You need to adjust to your new senses and get any bloodlust under control.” He pointed out. “I only just fund you, sister. I do not wish to lose you already.” Victoria winced at James. “And I don’t want you to face the Wynters by yourself. Look at what one of them did to the Hygraces.” She gestured to Peter’s devastated form. “And you do not know London like we do.” “Perhaps Lady Macey could be my guide then?” He suggested and turned to Sylvie. “She seems to be getting around undetected.” He made a valid point and Victoria hesitated. She looked over to Vail for his opinion, since Sylvie was his friend and (ex-fiancé technically) and he was pretty much the head of the Hygrace clan right now with Peter out of commission and Katherine too focused on him. He could not speak for the Moncouriers or Crests but his decisions could override everyone else’s purely because he was the strongest vampire in the room.
