[@Cyrania] Correct me if I'm misunderstanding anything. Potentially you could develop something like that. Magic is rough and in its infancy, meaning it can be shaped in different ways. You could sing someone to make them happy or sad, urge them to slip off to sleep, or curry their anger to a boiling point. But it takes focus and a fair bit of effort. With healing, you would need to know what herbs do, how to treat the wounds, set bones, and the magic you could have would amplify that and quicken the healing but taxing you with headaches and exhaustion. You could learn to do both, but it would take a bit and would not be easy. Think of it like you are physically learning both without the magic aspect (which you would be doing since magic still needs physical aspect to work at the moment). You could become adept at both but it would take years and you would neglect your knowledge elsewhere. That being said, it sounds very interesting and reminds me of The Books of Pellinor by Alison Croggon. I would love to see a character who could pull that off!
