Never about speed, or slick moves, or reflexes that make you the best fighter ever. In the end, it’s all about what you can take.”
The vigilante known as Moon Knight has been an ambiguous figure of concern in New York City for the greater part of a decade. The criminal underworld has taken notice, though for the longest time the supposed Lunar Legionaire was nothing but an urban legend. A story told to scare criminals into second-guessing themselves. Perhaps it’s still true. But there are people who believe the stories that the thugs and gangsters that stalk New York at night tell about a moon-crazed lunatic that hunts down the worst and the weird. It is a reality that Moon Knight enjoys. Sometimes a little too much. This version of Marc Spector is a few separate ideas brought together in this fresh universe, not focusing entirely on the Khonshu mythology but more identifying a broken shell of a man who has been trying to achieve his mission to protect others from the wicked and the weird no matter the personal cost. And Marc at this point has achieved a lot of cost throughout his dealings with his traditional rogues gallery, cults, and secret societies who wish the urban legend great harm. He’s lost pretty much everyone who dedicated themselves to his mission. A deep regret Marc has is that he put people in harm’s way that should’ve never been involved in the first place. In New York City he’s committed himself to carrying on in spite of his loss. In this game I will explore a older Marc Spector who has more experience than some of the other heroes around him and is struggling with the ambiguity of Khonshu, his own emotional and mental wounds, and how he chooses to push forward. Stories will jump around as needed in a loose format jumping from pulpy serialized moments and great hints at narrative. There will be room for collaboration with other New York heroes, but right now I want to get one foot in the door. An untouchable “ubermob” the Maggia have influenced crime in New York City and the greater United States since the Falcone and Bertinelli families landed in Gotham in the 20th Century. When it comes to New York City they quietly control crime with an efficiency that hasn't yielded yet though it remains to be seen how they choose to adapt to this new age of mutants and masterminds. However, it does appear that the Maggia are slowly starting to lose their grip due to contention from vigilantes like Moon Knight and defections within their own organization. Only time will tell how the story ends for them. The New Committee One of the first organizations that Moon Knight found himself at odds was and has been the Committee. Led by Mosiah Carruthers, the Committee operates off of a secret society as old as New York City of the elite members of New York’s high society with their goal about influencing the financial and private sector to the benefit of their enterprises. Moon Knight successfully destroyed their operation, but as it would turn out there were survivors who seek not only to return to power but also unleash retribution on Moon Knight for his tampering with their “natural order”. Crossfire William Cross is a former CIA field agent and assassin who has since retired from government association to work independently. On paper everything points to William changing gears in life to work alongside his cousin, Darren, at Cross Technological Enterprises. However, things aren’t so simple and certainly Cross and Moon Knight will cross paths on the opposite sides sooner rather than later. Ma Mayhem As with most homo magi, Lynn James is a magically-enhanced human of great power that has often come at odds with Moon Knight due to her enterprising nature of selling out her magical abilities to criminal syndicates and third parties. Moon Knight has found her elusive and annoying, though he has often outsmarted her in their encounters.
