Age: 28 Heritage: Blackfoot Native American, his Initiate name is Chansomps which means Locust Appearance: 5'11, muscular build, thick legs and arms. He likes to dress in dark clothes because it hides his features. He enjoys wearing a long, black trench coat he got at the mall back when the Matrix was cool. He keeps his black hair long and usually tied up or in a pony tail, he has dark skin and dark eyes common to his ethnicity. His style prioritizes function over form and it shows in his shoes and gear.

Concept: Shaman, healer, good boy. He's well spoken, charming, and funny. He doesn't like to call attention to himself but engages well with others. He is above all kind, and cannot abide to watch someone suffer, even if it is someone he doesn't like. Powers/Skills: He works as a traveling nurse.

He can channel healing energy which works well with his job.
He has a thorough understanding of symbology and the principles of Alchemy and a history of magic as studied by philosophers and the un-initiated.
Martial Arts training- he cannot move like he could when he was younger, but he can punch and kick really hard. In IC I can talk about what all he's studied and how he approaches fighting.
He has an ability to commune with animals. Not control them, but understand them and project to them.
He can channel an energy into himself which causes him to take on characteristics such as increased speed and strength, harder skin, harder nails, body dismorphia, and so forth. This is part of a wild, lycanthrope nature he inherited from his ancestors. Generally he doesn't use this skill because it takes away his rational mind and he might hurt someone, so this talent is only for life threatening situations.
Things your character wants to see happen: He wants to live a quiet life, but he is burdened with a feeling of impending circumstance. He feels like something is coming, something world changing of Biblical proportion, but he doesn't know what it is or when it will happen. He absolutely doesn't want to be a part of the destruction of humanity, but he is afraid he is to have something to do with it. Things you as a writer want to see happen: I want to see Chet grow to accept fate, his own and others. He has had to grow as a person and become someone he likes vs. someone he hates, and that is a good thing; now he has to come to grips with the things he cannot control and what those things may requir of him. His is a tale exploring the emotions of responsibility and self actualization. Also, I want to work my imagination muscles and have a good time, I'm not part of a super active game like this one yet and I'm bouncing on my heels to play. You guys are great writers, this is going to be a real privilege.
Chet grew up in a secure middle American, Roman Catholic family. His father was a soldier and his mother was a Blackfoot Indian. Chet was a difficult child, his mother called him "I'simi vai," which meant "wild animal." His conservative father, in an attempt to teach him to control his impulses, enrolled him in martial arts programs after school. Chet fell in love with combative art-forms and it became his favorite past time. He was still uncontrollable though, and when he was 9 years old he got involved with a gang called Folk Nation. Folk Nation made it's living recruiting children to move drugs because children were 1) exempt from mandatory prison sentences making them less susceptible to being talking into ratting out their supplier, and 2) because the buyers were less likely to shoot a kid and steal the product. Chet was running a drug called "Fairy Dust" in the underbelly of Jacksonville, Florida for over a year before he tried the product for the first time and got hooked. He was a child who had no respect for authority, a "Fuck it" mentality, and access to hard drugs; it didn't take long before he stole over $5000 worth of product and disappeared, he was only 11. He was picked up 6 months later by a private detective hired by his parents. He had been living on the streets, hiding from Folk Nation, and trying to space out his drug consumption so he wouldn't overdose. His parents brought him home but they could not hide him from the addiction treatment he needed, which meant they had to bring him before a family court and admit that he had gotten a hold of illicit substances as a minor. When he was brought before the court he lambasted the judge with tales of lucid dreams involving Angels and Demons, the end of the world, and the corruption or salvation of mankind. The court ordered rehabilitation treatment to take place in a mental health institute and that he be reevaluated when he turned 14. In the institution he was diagnosed with Narco-Schizophrenia, a disease made up by an ambitious doctor who saw an opportunity to further his career using the boy as a case study for the new illness. Chet trusted the doctor and told him everything. His dreams centralized around a figure from Heaven who told him that he was an Angel, of the hierarchy of Abaddon, the Angel of destruction. As proof of the reality of his visions, he was taught Angelic Script in his dreams, a powerful form of symbolic writing that Angels use to mold creation. To begin, the doctor began an avalanche of anti-psychotics, anti-schizophrenics, and CNS depression medications. Chet continued to have lucid dreams, and so the doctor prescribed electro-convulsive therapy. After 3 sessions Chet wizened up and realized the good doctor was not so good after all. Chet figured out what the doctor what he wanted to hear, and he began to keep his dreams and his thoughts to himself. After another year of therapy he was released to go home, he was almost 14. Chet's parents decided a change of scenery would help and moved to Chicago to start fresh. Chet got back into martial arts, worked hard at school, and tried to forget the events of the last couple of years. The dreams never calmed down but as long as he didn't talk about them, he could function in regular company. What he learned while lucid dreaming drew him into the spiritual world, and he began obsessively researching Mysticism, the Occult, and the religious practices of his ancestors. After he graduated high school he went and lived among his mother's native tribe in Montana for four years. There he spoke to the elders about his dreams and they initiated him into their Shamanic arts. The holy men and women taught him how to use energy to heal himself and others, and how to commune with the spirits and animals in nature. As a final rite of initiation they instructed him in the arcane practice of summoning the inner beast. He moved back to Chicago and studied to become a traveling nurse. When he's home he has a steady job at a local community hospital and serves food at a homeless shelter on the weekends. He tends to be a loner but that's more because of his unusual past as apposed to his personality.

I offer to you my guy for review, I apologize ahead of time if it seems hastily written there have been a lot of distractions today. Anyways I hope you like Chet. *Edit- I got to come back and work on this some more, I'm pretty happy about it now. Hope you enjoy the read.
