As Shadestar acknowledged his request, the medicine cat dipped his chin politely, ever formal in front of the rest of the Clan, as was to be expected given his rank. As the black tom headed up to his den, Eelpond sprang up after him gracefully and ducked inside the alcove, some of his formal posture relaxing the moment they were inside, though it wouldn’t vanish completely until he was sure they weren’t being eavesdropped upon. 
[b][color=7bcdc8]“I just wanted to...check in, I guess, before we start getting ready to go to the meeting.”[/color][/b] he mumbled, glancing over his shoulder and waiting, checking for other cats.

When he was sure neither Tinypaw, nor any of the rest of the Clan had followed them up into the den, Eelpond shuffled forward slightly to push his forehead against the other tom’s gently. 
[b][color=7bcdc8]“I’m worried, Shadey, and...I don’t [i]know[/i] if I’ll come back with answers for you. But I [i]can[/i] promise you that I’ll try my best.”[/color][/b] the medicine cat sighed heavily, stepping back so he could sit down and wrap his tail around his paws in an attempt to stop it from lashing back and forth and giving away how worried he really was about the meeting. [b][color=7bcdc8]“If StarClan won’t talk to me...I’m hoping, maybe, they’ll talk to Tinypaw, at least. She hasn’t...done anything to make them angry.”[/color][/b] of course, he would never blame Shadestar for the way things had happened. And he would never, honestly, regret it either. But still, the [i][color=7bcdc8]Like we have…[/color][/i] was implied and hung heavy between them, though unspoken. [b][color=7bcdc8]“You be careful while we’re gone, alright? I don’t want to come back to a long line of injured warriors and you looking a state.”[/color][/b] was what he said aloud instead, only half teasing.
