[b][color=008000]The Reason You Become a Soldier:[/color][/b] Hartmann had probably never joined the war, had it not been for his younger brother Ludger who ran away from home with two of his friends to join the revolutionary forces. Fearing that his parents would never recover from the grief if their baby boy got himself killed in the fighting, Hartmann took it upon himself to keep Ludger safe. He used a sizeable portion of his life savings to purchase a horse and followed his brother to the front.
[b][color=008000]History:[/color][/b] Hartmann has led a mostly unremarkable life. He has always been a quiet person, minding his own business and looking after his family. His younger brother Ludger is his opposite, all fiery temper and rash decisions. This has led to some tension between the two, but Hartmann has always felt that he has a responsability as the eldest son to try and keep the family together, and has therefore never really challenged Ludger on his immature behaviour.
