Arcanis' Primary Elements[/center]

[color=0072bc]"So today we shall be learning about the elements of Arcanis magic. It is made up of four primary elements; fire, water, wind, and earth, and three secondary elements; lightning, ice, and wood"[/color], the class was being run by Utsumi again as usual. It's been a week since, and any unrest had begun to settle already, it appeared as if things were back to normal, like the night from almost two weeks ago hadn't happened at all.

[color=0072bc]"Well, I'm sure you all know what those comprise of, so instead I'll be talking about the origin of elements in Arcanis"[/color], Utsumi pulled from his pocket a small crystal, it glowed blue with a particular energy.

[color=0072bc]"This here is a water crystal, an elemental crystal. On Earth, such occurrences never happen, but in Arcanis where the aether, the flow of magic is much more potent, crystals can form in the appropriate environments. Elements being much more tangible in Arcanis has greatly influenced the study of magic compared to Earth, where much of the precepts are based on mysticism"[/color], he began.

[color=0072bc]"The land of Arcanis is thick with magic, so thick that many of it's areas can have whole ecosystems based around magic, and areas with large deposits of magical crystals such as these can greatly affect the area around it. One known instance of this is the frigid tundras of Crystis Talon. Currently under watch of the Ashcroft family is a gigantic elemental crystal of ice, which is a natural formation that predates humanity in Arcanis, and is the sole reason the region is quite frigid, despite it being surrounded by a warm and lush forest, and a desert"[/color], he then put the crystal away.

[color=0072bc]"Well, I suppose the take-away is that magic for those of Arcanis is quite real, and much more tangible than magic here. As I'm sure you're aware, Shinto and Celtic mysticism don't base their entire studies around studying energy but studying the power of words and inscriptions, something both Arcanis and Earth have in common so it appears"[/color], 

[color=0072bc]"Anyways... I'm afraid that'll be all the time I have for talking about this subject, when we start doing secondary elements and Earth elements I'll bring it up again. For now, please review the set of four Royal magic spellbooks that I have given you for today... And also..."[/color],

People were beginning to pack up, but those with an eye on their watch saw there were still 5 minutes left until class was normally dismissed. It seemed there was a bit more.

[color=0072bc]"In about two weeks, we will be having a one week trip to Kyoto"[/color],

There was a murmur of excitement, as well as a few of Arcanis asking what or where Kyoto was. Utsumi stood up straight and then whispered a few words while raising his hand in an underslung motion. In an instant, a sheet of paper popped into existence in front of everyone's desk.

[color=0072bc]"This here is a form that you'll need to fill out if you're interested. In particular, we will be visiting various shrines run by the major families of Shinto Exorcism, passing by their famous dojos, and meeting some craftsmen who have gathered to demonstrate the importance of good gear. This will be of particular interest to anyone seriously pursuing any career where they'll be expected to fight, myself and Kuuto will be the supervising teachers for this trip"[/color].


[color=0072bc]"Also we'll be staying at a hotel, so I'd like everyone to give me their room assignments by the end of the week. The maximum number of people per room is 4, so please keep that in mind... Well then that's good time. Class dismissed"[/color], the words were followed with the sudden clamour of chairs and bags as people began to get up, already talking about the trip and asking questions. There were some particular things of interest, but a whole week? There ought to be time for sight-seeing if that was the case.

For the young Edward, there was an extra note scrawled onto his sheet. It said, "if you plan on joining this trip, please see me after class". A curious note, was he in trouble? He shouldn't be, his studies were going well after all. Regardless it somewhat concerned him that it was in regards to this trip too.
