NOEL
After lunch, Carol approached the cirriculum with a renewed vigor. School work was her strong point, and as typical for the girl who picked the seat in front, she commonly held up her hand to answer questions. At this point she had two, maybe more new friends and just having the discussion of future plans was enough to give her some much needed comfort. She wasn't kicked out of the program for her mediocre and inefficient quirk. If anything it seemed like everyone was kind of in the same frame of mind. Too focused on the future to really pay her any mind. Maybe they weren't as judgey as she thought. She was actually excited for the year. With school work mixed in with heroing, she felt like she just might make it. She couldn't wait for things to start proper. The next days classes culminated into their first proper hero class. Ms. Mako proposed they split up into teams, and Carol ended up on the villain list. This made her jaw drop. And the reason for it was. "Lack of confidencsh?" She couldn't help saying outloud, but not asking it. This kind of broke her resolve. So it wasn't because they saw her as useless, it was because of her performance that she had stage anxiety. She held her head a little bit as she slumped into her chair, her antlers showing purple and blue in slow dull lights. They didn't realize yet that it wasn't anything to do with actual confidence, she really was screwed from birth with a bum, non heroic quirk. What was she going to do when they realize it? Kouji asked a bunch of rather inane questions and this caused Carol to snap back to the thought of being a villain. It felt... well actually kind of sickening to her. She had a stance on not being a bully, and she doubted she could even think that way. Perspective. The only perspective she could learn is more reason to hate them. She got back into her gym clothes, scarf, stocking, mittens and all and walked out to the field everyone mentioned, her demeanor one of disgust and anxiety as purple and green lights flashed in a discordant pattern around her as occasionally flashes of anger made her nose and cheeks flush red. It was Yukari, Dulga, and Acion who were there as part of her team that made her reconsider things. Dulga was probably undefeatable considering her focus and quirk. She wouldn't be surprised if Dulga has some real experience under her belt. Yukari had very strange powers, and it seemed to be incredibly useful and versatile. Plus she was a friend which helped. Then there was Acion, a flyer and very confident... and his face just made her feel a bit better. So that had power, speed, and surprise on their side. Kouji was a villain too, but Carol thought he was just a loud mouth. She took a deep breath and made a fist, her antlers shining a bright yellow in a flash. She had to contribute something to this team, even if it was just some kind of battle strategy. Dulga was off testing the wreckage and Carol decided to use that. She approached her team, speaking loud enough for atleast Acion to hear. "Looksh like plenty of placshs for an ambush for thoshe goody two shoe herosh right?" She tried (poorly) to get into the spirit of things. "If we're like a... legion of doom or shumthing, maybe we should shtart strategizhsing and come up with an evil plot." She put her mittens together with a big grin. "Maybe thish will be fun." [@Conscripts]
