[b]Equipment:[/b] Standard issue uniform, rifle, and side arm. He has a old 24" machete that he brought from home and a regulation tactical knife he keeps strapped to his thigh. He also has on old compass that was passed down from his grandfather and a book of philosophy called [i]The Secret Teachings of All Ages[/i] that he carries with him like a Bible. 

[b]Skills:[/b] He knows how to sing in a Barbershop quartet, he grew up working on a farm so he has basic agricultural skills, he has spent a lot of time quiet and thoughtful so he tends to think deeply and ponder about things. 

[b]Flaws:[/b] He is young and naïve, he tends to follow more than lead. He has a meek self image and is servile.  

[b]Fears:[/b] He's afraid of not being good enough, or that something is inherently wrong with him. His mother died when he was 11 and he feels like she died because he didn't love her enough, though he doesn't realize it.

[b]Personality:[/b] Quiet and friendly. He loves to sing, and performing has taken away certain feelings of shyness that come naturally to most people. He believes in America and in the principle of the American dream and will not hesitate to defend his country. He can be angry, but he is not an angry person. People would say he seems intense.

[b]Personal History:[/b] He grew up a farmer in North Carolina. He loves to read books, and he "borrowed" the book he carries around with him now from the local library of his home town. John Wayne was one of his heroes, he took the nick name "Duke" after watching the film [i]Stage Coach[/i] when he was 10.

When he was 11 his mother was lynched (not going into details out of respect) by a group of Klu Klux Klan members. He was furious, and terrified. His father didn't do much after and didn't talk about it, just continued to work the farm. When he turned 14 his father moved to New York and remarried, but Duke stayed behind. He figured out how to falsify his birth records to show he was born in 1949 instead of 1953 and that was how he was able to get into the military. He figured that through the military he could make his own life for himself, and wants to make America the beautiful and free place that exists in his imagination. [/hider]
