She was also both an earth and a fertility goddess, presiding over the fertility of the land, and the changing of the seasons, with particular connections to autumn. Her long golden hair was said to represent the long grass, or the golden wheat covering the Northern summer fields. Among the Scandinavian Saami, Sif was known as Ravdna, and was considered the goddess of the rowan tree. Sif was also known to be a prophetess who could see more than those around her, and was believed to be a goddess who helped others to find solutions & peace in difficult times. The most famous tale about her features her hair. One day the trickster god Loki, crept into Thor & Sifs bedchamber and sheared off Sif's long golden hair. As soon as Thor heard of Loki’s treachery, he was furious and threatened to break every bone in Loki’s body. Seeking to save his own skin, Loki travelled to Svartalheim, where the two dwarf sons of Ivaldi agreed to fabricate hair from gold, as fine as Sif's own hair. They also decided to make additional gifts as well, in order to please the gods (including Mjolnir and Gungnir).

𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬

After the fall, Sif did not wake like the others of her pantheon, but instead remained in a deep and unshakeable slumber for the first century. When she did eventually rouse, she found that Thor had moved on. It was a shock to her but although she first felt a deep sadness for her loss, the goddess never made any attempts to reunite herself with her husband. And it was not long before her feelings too began to wane, eventually fading to little more than a distant memory. It was both a relief and a source of confusion for the goddess. Her life before the fall had been centered around her role as a wife and she felt at a loss over what to do. Still, the years wore long on Sif and she became ever more disillusioned. The mortals put ruin to everything she represented. The earth was scorched & torn up, men treated women like possessions, and families were torn apart by the atrocities of the world. For a long time she simply moped about, both wishing and not-wishing that she could go back to Asgard. Sif can't deny that the temptation the leave the range of the Colossus did sometimes pull strong at her, but she always resisted, hoping and wishing for something good to come. The light at the end of the tunnel came for Sif in an unusual form. Feeling trapped by her mind, she wished to find solace from her own thoughts. It was as such that she stumbled across the art of dancing. She dabbled in many different forms of dance throughout the years, relishing in both the physicality and showmanship of it. Sif particularly loved cabarets & burlesque shows which she begun to take part in during the late 1800's. It was freeing for the goddess, and she slowly began to feel like herself again. Or at least, like her new self, for she knew with a certainty that the old her was gone. And so with this, Sif was brought back to the world once more, the cloud of despair that had followed her around for so long having been blown away. When Tlaz opened the Jade Jaguar shortly after their move to Seattle, she jumped at the opportunity to go and work for the Aztec goddess. Adopting the stage name Scarlet, Sif has worked at the establishment for the last couple of years, becoming one of the more well-known dancers.
