What on earth could have possessed the man? But he seemed to be just as embarrassed and so Fatima chose to ignore the comment. Gen's statement though! It just about caused her to faint. What in the world had come over the man? Any of these men? However, she was delighted to have so many [s]bodyguards[/s] friends coming along for the trip. And they would certainly be eye-catching, what with an Eyrien tagging along and all. She would make quite the spectacle it would seem. She walked alongside Sybl, all demure patience. She asked polite questions about the town, nothing too probing nor specific in the fear he might think she was attempting some sort of take over. She did not at all want this shitty little town. She wanted her own shitty little town she had been born in and promised to rule since then. Her heart actually ached for it, how odd. She easily brushed it aside upon entering the shop and got back into the groove of the foolish young Queen with a taste that far exceeded her annual income. "New?" she responded to the woman, a glint of curiosity in her eye. High fashion and weaponry? Was she being serious? Was that a joke? He looked toward the others for some clue but nary found a one so he gave her a half-smile that did not quite hide his confusion. The last thing he wanted to do was to look foolish by giving the wrong sort of response. His confusion was furthered by her comments on different colors which all sounded quite plausible to his artist's ears. Jandar even joined in and Sybl found himself in a state of distress. Jokes or truth? He hated this game. "I would assume that there may be something to be found to your liking," he inclined his head to both people, hoping against all hope that this was an appropriate response. He hadn't realized how much he had stiffened until Fatima looked up at him with those pale eyes. He worried he was hurting her but it seemed her concern was for him because she lightly patted his arm before leading them out. Since no one was laughing or hurting him he assumed he must have made the right call for the conversation and relaxed. He found the walk pleasant with Fatima asking many delightful questions. He was proud to be able to answer them all to satisfaction though as they wore on his voice was becoming more and more hoarse. When the reached the store he attempted to slyly drink from a flask tucked in his overcoat. He was fairly adept at hiding this movement from his years in Court. To be caught had meant punishment and one had to learn some sublime sleight of hand in order to not be caught. As much as he was saddened to no longer have the comfort of her touch, he found himself quite enjoyably occupied watching her flounce about the shop and ask questions. Sybl found his way to a quiet patch of wall where one would not be in the way.
