Kire had enjoyed the long soak. She felt strange, both tired and restless, as if the power the Ring had stored up earlier had sent her mind buzzing as well. She stared at the burn mark around her ring finger, frowning. The past few days had been a whirlwind: she found Ed and his soldiers at a hidden elven stronghold, had her friends stranded for a brief while in her own world, and just a while ago she destroyed a world gate. Granted, it was a smaller world gate than the larger ones that had devastated Amria before, but it was no less dangerous. Back at her room, she put on a dress and a thick robe over it, idly drying her hair, sipping the wine in between. Her mind now had a different, pleasant buzz from the liquor as she stared out at the window. Some time later she heard the door next to her close. [i]Ruli.[/i] She noted how he smiled a little easier around her now, or at least it seemed that way, compared to how much more withdrawn he had been when they met three months ago. She looked back down at her own hand, remembering his touch on it earlier when he pulled the memory of the manor from her mind. She chewed on her lip, swirling the wine in her mug, before she turned to walk out her room. Her wine in one hand, she stared at his door, hesitating for a few more moments before knocking twice on it.
