Fears: Nicholas fears abandonment, which has happened constantly in his life, even recently. Abilities: Life Force Manipulation: Nicholas has the ability to transfer and manipulate life force of both himself and others, though the latter is a foreign concept to him at the moment. Currently, he uses this power to restore others and bolster himself. His current capabilities are as follows; Life Force Infusion - By transferring his own Life Force into others (which he has in abundance now due to his mutation), he can restore them physically. Cuts, bruises, and other minor wounds can be washed away in seconds. Larger, sustainable injuries might require more effort and a longer time to focus. Additionally, while his stores of Life Force are large, they are not infinite; eventually this process will exhaust and tire him to the point of fainting or potentially dying. He can use this ability on himself as well, which is much more energy-efficient than using it on others. Lastly, his blood is heavily infused with Life Force; it can act as a universal donor to any blood type, and grants those who take it in temporary, but exceptional regenerative qualities. It also caused his blood to become a golden hue. Life Force Emboldening - By focusing his Life Force through his body, Nick can gain superhuman levels of physical prowess. Through this process, he has the raw strength to shatter stone, run at peak human speeds, and suffer great damage with little impact; natural weaponry used on him while this is active would have next to no effect beyond high-grade explosives. Again though, he can’t keep this up forever. Light Regeneration/Superhuman Stamina - While not very impressive (at the moment), Nicholas can quickly recover from minor wounds even without any sort of Life Force usage. Additionally, his massive stores of Life Force have granted him an insane amount of stamina, making him hard to keep down for long. History: Nicholas Baumann is a New Yorker, born and raised in Manhattan with his two parents, one Bruce Baumann and Stacy Miller, and his sister, Natalie Baumann. His childhood was...A rough one, to say the least. His parents were not very good; his father was rarely home, focusing almost entirely on his business ventures, and when he was home, he was either a cold and callous bastard of a man, or an abusive drunkard. And their mother? Whenever cash came in, it always went to things she wanted; cigars, jewelry, or maybe more unsavory purchases? You name it, she bought it, at the expense of her two children. The two siblings took the situation vastly differently. Whereas Natalie grew a stiff backbone, eventually able to support the family and keep her mother away from too much cash, Nicholas decided to stray away from his familiar issues, and developed a sort of self-sacrificing attitude; instead of caring about himself, he instead took it upon himself to look after others around him. Whether it was kids who needed help with studies, lending a hand to the school nurse, or making sure the street beggar got a meal today, he put literally everyone before himself, while his sister put him and herself above anything else. Eventually in their teenage years, Natalie convinced Nick to leave with her; that if they stuck around, eventually their self-destructive parents would drag them down as well. While it was easy for her to cast them away, as she too had been growing cold like their father, he found it more difficult. He would never deny that his parents were far from perfect, but he was able to remember the rare moments they were a true family. While he thought long and hard, he eventually caved; the only people whom he could never truly help were his own mother and father. Once they did, life smoothed out for them. Sure, it was always a bit rough having to work odd-jobs to keep things going for the two of them, but it always managed to work itself out. In time, the two worked towards their career paths; Nicholas wishing to be a respected and amicable doctor, and Natalie becoming a hardened lawyer, both planning to go to ESU. However, things changed when the Terrigen storm stuck while he was at their apartment, and he immediately cocooned up. What felt like a brief moment for Nick had been months, but when he emerged, he practically glowed with health...And the first thing he did after emerging was hug his sister, incidentally curing her of the narcolepsy that began to plague her since her brother’s cocooning. While the entire thing was quite jarring, it turned out he spent most of the worst time inside the cocoon, even skipping over the whole global pandemic; how lucky! Confused, but unwilling to get caught up in the mess of things, Nicholas has enrolled into ESU just as planned.
