A woman who was little more than sold into the family in a contract, and died shortly after giving birth. He proved an able child, taking to his lessons not only in magecraft, but in every subject his family thought worth hiring tutors for. Even if his mother had not died, he certainly would have been selected as heir over any younger siblings. As a matter of course, the headship of the family passed to him, his father enjoying an early retirement. The family’s knowledge was contained within a single Gu spirit, a golden silkworm that gathered prosperity towards the family. Though the method of gathering was not exactly peaceful; seeking out victims to poison with curses and ensuring their possessions passed to the family that it was bound to. While this ensured the Wu family gained enormous power and prosperity, both as Magi and businessmen, the negative karmic burden gained over this time was immense. Though the family mitigated it where they could, it was not enough for the young heir. Developing his own method of purifying karma through “Hell Gu Pots”, the Magus purified the ancient spirit, dissipating it into nothingness. The ultimate act of blasphemy for a Magus, throwing away the good with the bad. The burden of centuries was completely eliminated, but so was its knowledge, its fortune. He had taken what he could from it, then destroyed it so it no longer posed a threat. Ensuring his own heirs would never start from the position he did. But perhaps that was from a position of arrogance - assuming he, himself would reach [], without any need to plan for the future. From here, he began to work in earnest, building relationships with all kinds of people, Magi and mercenaries, criminals and government officials. All to the end of building up his own power. He pursued all kinds of knowledge and wealth, all over the world. When dealing with those in the West, he took on his mother’s family name. Though usually that sort of thing would gain the wrong kind of attention, it appears the Rikovo family proper has been in decline after a certain incident involving their attempted creation of an ‘ultimate lifeform’ and therefore have not been able to take issue with it. Perhaps it’s ironic, but for someone whose life has been spent creating various hells, his goal is to make a true utopia, a perfect world for everyone, and, incidentally, ruled by him. To this end, the ritual taking place near the ancient site of Troy is a worthwhile stepping stone. Recently, a certain hedge kitten has been interfering with his dealings. It’s very annoying. Personality: Arrogant and self-assured, one who believes in his own abilities above anything. Stockpiling power and eliminating any perceived threats are second nature. However, he does want to help the world, even if his own desires take priority. A man who tends to wear his emotions on his sleeve. One who has childish outbursts when angry, but can’t contain his happiness when things go right. A tempestuous person to be around. Despite all that, he has a certain charm, and makes alliances with relative ease. Perhaps it’s because people think him too transparent to betray them.
Quality of Circuits: B Quantity of Circuits: B Elemental Affinity: Fire/Metal Attribute: Compression Abilities General Magecraft: The Basics Gu: The practice of sealing a number of venomous creatures within a container, as they devour each other until their toxins are concentrated into the sole survivor. A broad form of witchcraft that is used to create both strong poisons and powerful familiars. However, “Pangu”’s practice is abnormal, and makes use of neither, at least in the traditional sense. Hell Pots: Gu pots created to imitate a smaller ‘hell’, the Diyu of Chinese mythology and the Naraka of Bhuddist belief. Each pot is its own Hell, a purgatory that serves to ‘punish’, aligning with the pain of dying, devoured in the dark, of the Gu pot. Purifying the earthly karma, one’s sins are purged by punishment. In this sense, the karmic backlash of creating ‘curses’ through Gu magic is negated. The grudges and poisons created within this hell are purified and used as nothing more than fuel. The idea that a Hell is something that contains a soul for thousands or millions of years also results in a form of time compression within the container. Terracotta Army: An imitation of the famous terracotta army, a sealed army sent to accompany their ruler to the afterlife. Molded in clay, and hollow, they are themselves a pot. In addition, their function to follow into the afterlife synergises with the ‘hell’ inside of the pots. The third leg of a tripod that comes together to create an army of efficient and autonomous familiars. Compared to golems, they are cheaper and easier to produce, though considerably less sturdy. A golem can continue to fight without an arm, but if the container of Pangu’s “Gu Pawns” are breached, then the creature inside is released from hell, reincarnated into the world newly purified, and the Pawn loses its functionality. However, the Terracotta used is compressed into a metal-like hardness, and not so easy to breach as ordinary clay. In addition to soldiers, human-shaped tools of other functions, as well as chariots and horses, can be created, using the same principles. Taijiquan - Silk Reeling: The practice of Neigong - movement and breathing - taught within Wu and Chen style Taijiquan. The ‘soft’ movement of an internal martial art, consisting of continuous and cyclical movements that helps one read and flow with the opponent’s actions. In addition, the movement carries the meaning of ‘silk reeling’, something that naturally aligns with the Gu concept of Jincan, the golden silkworm. Weaving gold as silk to help one’s internal balance and health, and the accumulation of fortune, simply as a practice of movement. Tobin’s mastery of this art is not nearly enough to be called a ‘master’, and it's simply supplementary to his other techniques. However, due to the circular shape of his body, he excels by nature. Mystic Codes Army and Chariots - A large collection of terracotta warriors containing Gu Hells and a single purified creature. This includes a number of “Pawns”, that are simply disposable forces, but also more specialised warriors and vehicles. Several vehicles have been constructed to carry Tobin, each with its own experimental weapons system. However, they all share the weakness of being rendered useless once the outside is breached and the creatures inside escape. Since one of the strengths of his method is mass production, a small factory has been set up near the base of the Blue Team, for further manufacture if necessary. Diyu Ruby - A jewel containing a spirit and its own “Hell”. Those whose eyes are reflected in it have their minds momentarily trapped in a personalised hell. Though it only lasts a moment, the time is compressed into feeling much longer. In the middle of a battle, this can be a decisive factor. Spirit Shades - Shades that allow one to glimpse the spirit world if magical energy is run through them.
Non-Magecraft Abilities/Items:

Fat Stacks - A large amount of money from various business dealings, scattered across numerous accounts.
Armaments - Normal weapons wielded by Tobin’s Pawns. The pawns mostly wield rifles, though specialised units may carry other weaponry, though none is mystical in nature.
Sports - Surprisingly, Tobin enjoys a variety of sports, including Surfing, Gymnastics, Rowing and, of course, Table Tennis.
Puzzles and Riddles - Tobin is a big fan of games of logic, including the traditional, but also more recent offerings like Puyo Puyo.
Animal Husbandry - This is what his doctorate is in, and even though it’s honorary, he insists on being addressed as Doctor at all times.
Voice Actor: Danny Devito
