See that's the thing. When you're dodging objects as fast as bullets, it makes me seriously question the plausibility of the fight in the first case. The only other weapon you'll be using are lasers/particle beams and swords, and if you're bending around inert projectiles like small or medium caliber rounds, what use is a melee weapon in this regard? The next step is simply dropping bombs on the foe, since that's an AoE weapon.
Ok. To put it in RP/Tabletop terms. Sometimes you don't even NEED to dodge bullets. Example: My character's armor. Has a "Hardness" rating. That means it ignores a certain amount of damage. In Exalted/World of Darkness/Scion... really ANY White Wolf game, a shotgun or similar weapon does "4L" damage. That's four points of lethal damage. My character's armor has a hardness rating of 5L/5B. That is it ignores up to 5 points of lethal damage OR bashing damage (damage from punches, clubs, etc). So unless you can increase the damage somehow, or line up and aim for his head (which would be fairly obvious and give really ANY character an opportunity to intervene or evade/find cover), then using a simple firearm in a fight is useless to begin with. Similarly, it has a "soak" rating. That means it CAN resist attacks dealing up to that much, but it's not guaranteed (if I recall. Been a while since I played Exalted). Similar are the stats for my character's sword. +8L/3 for damage means that an attack from it inflicts twice as much damage as a shotgun (which as I said, does 4L), plus extra from the character's strength. The /3 is due to the "O" tag, which means "Overbearing". That means that any attack made with it, if not blocked or parried, does a minimum of 3L damage due to the size, weight, and superior cutting power of the blade. The Speed and Rate numbers indicate that I can swing it up to twice per action (rate) and may act with the sword every 4 "ticks". Ticks are pointless in a play-by-post, but I keep it there for reference anyway. That's why, despite there not being a need for stats, I kept the stats for my guy's weapon and armor. So they serve as reference points for me and anyone I fight as to how tough the armor is and how strong my weapon is. Same with his essence motes... so I can't just spam powers. -------------
My gunfu character can do that, but with more actual dodging motions.
