He didn't tell her that he hadn't cast healing spells much because his sister had done it for them. With Klara there at least they had someone else who could help. That meant he could focus on controlling the field a bit more. 

Ed reached into his pocket and touched the small shield that he kept there. He summoned a couple of shield bubbles missing monkeys as they moved around. He frowned and did a few more in quick succession ending up with his last one catching four of the monkeys. That was a waste he thought, but at least he had a few caught now.
