Kire turned to him right before he spoke, then laughed a little at the startled chicken. “I’m nearly always hungry,” she said with a grin. “But yes. I’m good with having dinner now.” She tilted her head in thought. “As much as I’d like to try more of your cooking, I figured you might need to sit back for a while and let someone else cook. And going somewhere else for dinner means nobody else would badger either of us, if you want more privacy,” she added with a shrug.
