Anyone who knows JJ knows that he enjoys a good laugh. Whether it be on the football field, in the classroom, or during lunch or any other social gathering, you can always count on JJ to find ways to make those around him smile. A true [b]goofball[/b] at heart, JJ loves seeing others happy, and will go to great lengths in order to do so, whether it be by cracking a few clever jokes or performing one of his signature touchdown dances in the end zone. His goofiness also ties in with his heavily [b]flirtatious[/b] ways. Truth be told, JJ would flirt with anyone breathing, regardless if he's romantically interested in them or not. He enjoys the banter. Where's the harm in a little innocent teasing? Jay is also an [b]optimistic[/b] guy, and is very hopeful about his future despite how bleak things seem to be at the moment. He has a tendency to try and see the bright side of every situation, as well as the best in all people until they show him otherwise.

It's no secret that JJ is a little [b]cocky[/b], specifically when it comes to his football and dancing skills. He [i]knows[/i] that he's got talent, and almost always starts a little drama on the field with his shit-talking and showboating. He knows how to fire up the team and the crowd with his ways, and will never hesitate to do so. An [b]impulsive[/b] person by nature, JJ often does things without completely thinking them through. This is easily seen by how many risks he takes, both on the field and off. Jay also tends to be pretty [b]secretive[/b] when it comes to certain things such as his home life; although he knows that nobody (yet) at Rosefell is rolling in riches, he still can't help but feel as though inviting his friends over to a place where he doesn't even have his own bedroom or introducing them to his dysfunctional family would be too big of an embarrassment.[/indent]
[color=#97ADBB]Biography[/color]
[indent]JayVaughn was born in Detroit, Michigan to Brenda and Moe Spencer, a couple in their late twenties who'd been together for only five months before conceiving their firstborn child. Soon after JJ's birth, the pair moved their little family to a small apartment downtown, which was all that they could afford with Moe's job at the local auto shop and whatever money Brenda made on the side from braiding hair. Life was good for the first few years of JJ's life. Despite growing up in poverty, he could always count on his parents to love him unconditionally and supply him with all he needed to grow into the young man he was destined to be. It wasn't until JJ was eleven years old and finally took note of his mother's opioid addiction that things started to take a turn for the worse. 

Slowly but surely, Brenda began to spiral out of control; it wasn't long before the woman began to use money that had originally been set aside for JJ to purchase from her usual heroin dealer. She started growing increasingly distant from both her boyfriend and son, often opting to stay out later than usual, which meant that JJ would be home alone for hours on end until his father returned from work. There were even a few instances where she'd grow so angry with her child that she'd hit him repeatedly until it was out of her system. It was when these beatings began that Moe finally reached his breaking point and decided to take matters into his own hands. All JayVaughn remembered was being woken up in the middle of the night and carried to the backseat of his father's car, where he'd remain for a few hours before arriving in Columbus, Ohio.

Ida Mae Spencer, Moe's mother, was a woman in her early seventies who'd been living in Columbus her entire life; it was in her moderate sized, two bedroom home that Moe had grown up before moving to Detroit. Ida now lived in the home with her husband of twenty years and two of her other grandchildren, both of them only slightly younger than JJ. This was the first place that Moe thought to take his son while he helped rehabilitate Brenda. "I'll only be gone for a few months," he'd told JJ as he pulled two large suitcases from the trunk and handed them over to Ida Mae. "Three months tops, and then I'll come back to get you. We'll be a happy family again." But soon, three months turned into six. And six months turned into a year. It took two full years for JJ to finally come to terms with the fact that he'd probably never hear from his parents again.

It was football that got JJ through one of the toughest periods of his life. Football and dancing. It was during his last year of middle school that he found that, although his life wasn't the best, he had the ability to not only entertain and amuse others, but also the talent to ensure that his future kids would never have the kind life that he did. Freshman year, JJ was one of the few 9th graders on the Varsity team, and it was no surprise to any when he became a starter the very next year. Boy, was he [i]fast[/i]. One of the fastest receivers in the city, that was for sure. And now that he's in his Senior year, all that Jay is really focused on is becoming the best that he can be in preparation for the future that lies ahead.[/indent]
