Her name was eventually lost to the ages and she became known only as "The Wind Mother". This tale is romanticized and entirely fabricated. The reality is she was merely an exceptional wind release user, as were her descendants. The clan is old and rich, being a part of Sunagakure's shinobi force for generations. Despite this, they lack a seat on the council or any amount of political power. This is thanks in large part to their insistence on mysticism and secrecy, to the point where while their abilities may be known by the Sunagakure leadership, their customs, traditions, and beliefs are a total mystery. He is happy, earnest, kind, gentle, a constant source of positive energy. This is actually a bit jarring when his clan is considered. His parents are reserved and aloof, his twin sister Hirane is sharp-tongued and judgmental, but Hiro seems to be the exception. His happy demeanor even tends to appear at times as oblivious or inattentive, but this is to hide keen calculation and observational skills. He is particularly good at reading people, and has a tendency to, like his family, speak vaguely or philosophically, even speaking in riddles or poems at times. He can also be a tad mischievous, with a bit of a penchant for talking Hirane into minor acts of defiance to escape the pressure of their strict and rules-oriented parents. Hiro becomes dodgy and uncomfortable when asked about his family and home life. He spends as much time as possible away from home and visibly dislikes spending extended amounts of time with his clan and is more often than not caught outside past his curfew, wandering the streets and finding places to sit and feel the wind. The only family member of his that he happily spends time with is Hirane, trying to get her to spend time with people outside of the clan and come out of her shell. He doesn't like talking about himself at all, and prefers to help others work through their problems than open up about his own.

✖ ‖ L i k e s

✖ - Gyoza, his favorite food ✖ - Spending time with Hirane ✖ - Making tea ✖ - His sister-in-law's cactus fruit tea ✖ - Trees

✖ ‖ D i s l i k e s

✖ - Spicy food ✖ - His clan ✖ - Unnecessary violence ✖ - The smell of smoke or burning ✖ - Being at home

✖ ‖ N i n d o

"At the end of the day, all that matters is you do the right thing! As children they were incredibly joyful and friendly. They made a lot of friends outside of the clan, much to their parents' chagrin. When it came time to enter the shinobi academy, only Hiro did, as his parents insisted on Hirane following her mother's footsteps as a type of priestess called a "Wind Speaker". This would require her to sacrifice nearly all of her free time for intense study and ritual rehearsal. This seclusion, coupled with learning secrets about the clan's rituals and performances that even the shinobi members of the clan weren't privy to eventually caused her happy demeanor to slowly fade. Their parents focused all of their attention on her training, and between that and Hiro's habit of annoying the clan with his friendliness and openness with outsiders, his parents wrote him off almost entirely, caring little about what he did or where he went from then on. No matter what Hiro tried, Hirane seemed to grow more and more distant. For this, Hiro blamed his clan and his parents and began to spend more time with his older brother Hirasagi, who had been exiled from the clan due to his lack of talent, and his wife Naname, a shinobi with a marked talent in taijutsu. Hirasagi tried to teach Hiro to forgive their clan for their ways, and while Hiro struggled to swallow his contempt for their family, he began to focus on helping others, a trait he picked up from Hirasagi, while also training with Naname and learning her style of taijutsu. They became surrogate parents for him, and under their guidance he excelled in the Academy. Despite wanting to look after his sister, Hiro found himself spending more and more time with Hirasagi and Naname until he was rarely home at all. Eventually, the time spent away from home began to have consequences. In his absence, Hirane had become as secretive and dismissive as their parents. Even on their birthday, she had completely forgotten the day, totally engrossed in her studies. She even began carrying the ceremonial sword issued to Wind Speakers. She had no desire to spend excess time with anyone outside of the clan, and even began speaking about Hirasagi using the same distaste and disgust their father did. Her sharp tongue lead to a heated argument between the twins, and it resulted in Hiro cursing the clan and claiming they ruined Hirane's life. In response his father struck him and had Hirane permanently moved to the Speakers' compound for study. Since then Hiro has tried his best to mend the bridge between him and his sister with letters, the only correspondence the clan allowed with Speakers, but the relationship with his parents is strained, particularly with his father. When it came to be time to move to Konohagakure in order to transfer into their shinobi academy, it was only Hirasagi and Naname who saw him off. Upon reaching Konoha, Hiro's life became markedly better. He no longer heard the whispered stories about his clan when he walked the streets, and Konoha's scenery agreed with him much more than Suna's had. While a part of him felt guilty about putting so much distance between himself and his sister, he had accepted that on his own he didn't have the strength to do anything about it. He threw himself into completing his own studies and graduated from the shinobi academy with the marks to prove his hard work.

✖ ‖ N a t u r e s

Wind

✖ ‖ T a l e n t s

Hiro is skilled in taijutsu, focusing mainly on a combination of raw agility and a calm, patient defense. This technique is seen as the basic skill for members of the clan, as the basis of the clan's style involves repositioning frequently, on both land and air, to probe for openings in a foe's defense as well as more readily evade incoming danger. Kokyu no Fuujin (Wind God's Breath) - The user thrusts both hands forward and creates a barrier of wind that repels projectiles such as kunai and shuriken. The barrier isn't terribly strong and is more used as rapidly deployable defense against small attacks than a shield against incoming ninjutsu and powerful strikes. Shinku Tsunzaku (Vacuum Burst) - The user holds a hand out and creates a vacuum effect in their palm. This vacuum creates strong winds that blow toward the user, sucking in projectiles and loose debris, before exploding outward in a short-ranged burst of wind and concussive force. The wind itself is certainly capable of blowing foes back, but outside of that doesn't have much damage potential. The danger of the technique comes from whatever got sucked into it.

✖ ‖ W e a p o n s A n d T o o l s

Hiro carries the standard shinobi pouch with an assortment of shuriken, kunai, smoke bombs, and explosive tags.

✖ ‖ F i g h t i n g S t y l e

Hiro combines the highly mobile fighting style of his clan with a style taught to him by a relative that combines elements of tai chi, aikido, and judo to create a calm, patient defense.
