Her patched tabby fur blends stripes of orange and black over patches of white, pale orange, and light brown. Her hazel eyes seem to be slightly yellow in the sunlight but a darker brownish forest green in the shade. These mixed markings make her adept at blending into her surroundings, making her a first choice for stealth missions. Her signature features are a dark lining around her left eye and a black "freckle" on the right side of her muzzle. Her long legs, tiny white feet, and thin body show off how graceful she is. Personality: (Agile, gracious, supportive) Mosspoppy appreciates a peaceful atmosphere where she can take care of her duties and then relax in the sun with a piece of fresh-kill and good company. She doesn't like to cause trouble or drama, and she always does her best to help others resolve any problems they may have. If there is something secret going on, however, Mosspoppy does like to know as much as possible about it so she can keep tabs on the happenings of her clan. She doesn't come off as gossipy, trying instead to offer helpful advice or, at the very least, an ear to listen to anyone's woes. As a mentor, she is very encouraging and patient. She tends to focus on her apprentice's strengths first and worry about their shortcomings later to build confidence. Biography: Mosskit was born in a litter of four to loving parents who taught their kits from an early age to exude kindness and clan loyalty above all things. Mosskit and Mintkit loved to stay in the shade being groomed by their mother and each other, while Marigoldkit and Mallowkit fought mock battles in the dust. The siblings were sort of sheltered in their kithood, which led to apprenticeship that felt overwhelming to Mosspaw at first. Her mentor was a rough sort who spoke sharply and didn't hold back in training, leading to Mosspaw shutting down at times. The leader thought long and hard about whether they should change her mentor or see if she'd possibly make a good medicine cat apprentice. The original mentor was chosen to help bring out strong qualities in tiny Mosspaw but perhaps it was a bit too much for the young cat. A tragedy ended up being the deciding factor when Marigoldpaw was grievously injured by a fox and the wound grew worse and worse until the young apprentice died. The next day, Marigoldpaw's mentor was assigned to Mosspaw instead, and the pair worked out very well. Halfway through her apprenticeship, Mosspaw hit a growth spurt and outgrew all her siblings, gaining awkward long legs and a long body that didn't seem to be in proportion at all. Her mother often joked that, had she known how lanky Mosspoppy would grow up to be, she would have called her Tallkit instead of Mosskit. Mosspaw began to spend most of her free time practicing balance by climbing trees and walking along low, thin branches at the suggestion of her mentor. She slowly began to lose her awkwardness and developed a knack for things like hunting and stalking. Mosspoppy was made a warrior in a large ceremony and shared her vigil with all her siblings as well as several others. It was the proudest moment of her life when she heard her mentor calling out her new name. The occasion was bittersweet though, marred by thoughts of Marigoldpaw missing out on what her siblings got to enjoy in life. None were more upset than Mallowtail, who missed his sister sorely. Though all her siblings are close, Mosspoppy remains closest with Mintfur, whose relaxed disposition and cleanliness mirrors her own. It does not bother Mosspoppy that her apprenticeship was the height of her excitement so far. She wants nothing more than to lead a calm and dutiful life, perhaps sharing it with a special someone. Her downy fur has the consistency of kit fur and it often gets messed up, much to her chagrin. Her entire coat is very pale, consisting of grey and orange tabby stripes on a muted cream background. A mouse-sized spot of cream shows through on her throat, as well as a single front toe. Her eyes are pale as well, the yellowy color of grass on the first day of Newleaf. Personality: (Dismissive, persistent, honest, obsessive) Due to her parents fussing over her as a kit, Fennelpaw has an inflated sense of self-importance. A quick wit and an indifferent attitude has left her an unpopular cat amongst most of her peers, which has distanced her from the other apprentices. She has little patience for small-talk and would rather talk about meaningful topics or not at all. Those who spend much time around her soon find out that her passion lies with healing herbs; once she gets started, Fennelpaw can spend an entire day talking about different herbs and how best to use them. Biography: Fennelkit was a fussy kit, always mewling and crying as her mother, Littlecloud, fitfully groomed her only child. Strangely enough, on the odd occasion when she was left alone, Fennelkit would grow calm and quiet down. As she grew, Fennelkit had no interest in socializing with the other young cats, which worried her mother but the other parents assured the fussy queen that her kit would make friends in time. When she was soon to be apprenticed, her dismissive attitude began getting her into trouble because it was seen as a lack of respect. However, it was discovered that she simply had little interest in becoming a Warrior and her true passion for medicine was soon realized. When she was six moons old, she was apprenticed to Dapplefern, much to the relief of Littlecloud. Becoming an apprentice brought out some confidence in Fennelpaw and she quickly became absorbed in her day-to-day activities and duties, finding comfort in the routine. She is always quick to point out her peers' mistakes but finds it extremely difficult to admit her own. Over time, the other apprentices have begun to avoid her and, though several mentors have spoken to her about her attitude, it hasn't really changed much. Fennelpaw still prefers to be left to do her work undisturbed, and finds herself butting heads with her mentor now and again, though she means well. Long tufts of white fur poke out between rows of dark stripes over a field of light grey. A ruff around her neck gives her a bit of a regal appearance, and white hair spills from her ears. The whiskers on her face, as well as her legs, are extremely long, which help her excel at getting around in the dark. Her eyes are a soft, pale blueish green, like a calm, deep lake full of life and mystery. Personality: (Boisterous, childish, irritable, enthusiastic) With her exuberant and spirited personality, Mothwhisker can be quite the handful for those with less energy. She constantly picks on others and purposefully irritates them to get a reaction, but it's all in good fun...at least for her. She is a fun-loving cat who loves nothing more than a playful romp around the main cavern with a good friend or two. Her high energy levels often leave others exhausted after spending even a short length of time with her. If she is offended, she will immediately make it apparent, and she gets upset when things don't go her way. Mothwhisker is often told that she still acts like an apprentice, though she's been in the Warriors' den for a couple seasons now. Biography: Born to a pair of elders after they had retired from their Warrior duties, Mothkit was an unexpected surprise. She was the only one born in this litter but she has several older siblings whom she loved pestering as she grew up. However, older cats had little time for playing with kits, and she was a rather lonesome kit. She would often bother the elders for a laugh or follow after anyone who passed by the nursery. When another kit was born, she was beyond excited and waited eagerly for her to be able to play. As an apprentice, Mothpaw was eager for her chance to move into the apprentices' den and socialize with the older cats. She was never shy or afraid to talk to the others and she often wound up pestering them long after they had bedded down for sleep. Despite bothering the others, Mothpaw managed to befriend a few who were less bothered by her annoying traits and could see her as a loyal ally who would fervently defend her friends to her last breath. Though Mothpaw was infamous for shirking her responsibilities often, when she actually applied herself she was a hard worker and adept at fighting due to her low center of gravity. It took a little longer than it should have but Mothpaw was finally made a Warrior when she was ready. Mothwhisker was relieved to be made a Warrior, after all that's when the work ends right? Or so she thought. She was dismayed to realize that she still had to wake early and do just as much work as when she was an apprentice. She doesn't mind doing patrols but she absolutely hates waking early for the dawn patrol and will try and pass those duties off to anyone unsuspecting enough to agree to it. Mothwhisker would rather be goofing off in the caves or eating than doing her work but if she is allowed to have friends along, she'll gladly go on patrol. His paws and ears are still too large for his body but his mother assures him that he'll grow into them. Long whiskers stream from a triangular face that is mostly brown tabby with a white muzzle. His front legs, underside, and back paws are all white, the rest of his body covered in patches of brown tabby stripes. He has some light brown spots on his belly that have faded as he's grown older. Personality: (Awkward, nervous, energetic) Quailpaw can be summed up with the word "awkward." Not only does he have the wiry body of a half-grown cat, but he is also awkward in personality. He tends to be unsure of himself but his boundless energy gives him bursts of confidence, often leading him into situations he'd rather not be in. He tends to be shy and backwards when talking to others, and he isn't very confident yet. Biography: As a kit, Quailpaw was always quiet and observant. He would sometimes be overcome with bouts of energy but he would immediately go back to his quiet self after expending it. He enjoyed playing with his brother and sister, and would always try to listen to his parents and the elders. He loved hearing stories of past clan events. As an apprentice, Quailpaw is a bit shy and unsure of himself. He doesn't know what to do with all the energy in his paws and he's not very good at fighting or hunting yet. He's worried he won't be particularly good at anything at all, but he just needs to find his strengths. Mentor: Open! His coat is ticked with a dark hue along his spine and down his tail where it darkens further and flares out at the end. The same dark brown stripes his forehead and across his cheeks, as well as the backs of his ears. The rest of his fur is shades of brown and red, except for a cream spot on his throat and muzzle. His neat whiskers of stark white stand out from his fur, making them exceptionally noticeable. Though not overly muscular, his well-built, robust body exudes the fitness and energy of a healthy young warrior. Personality: (Good-natured, dependable, proactive) Growing up with a confrontational sibling, Rowanstep has become the peacekeeper of the two, and this role often spills over into the clan as a whole. Though he has spent the majority of his life not taking his duties very seriously, he has recently been forced to grow up and try to prove himself loyal. Rowanstep has always been well-liked among most members of the clan and he knows this is the only reason his newly acquired position as deputy hasn't been questioned yet, at least not out loud. He intends to show his clan that he is a capable deputy. Biography: Rowankit was always in the middle of his siblings, never as reserved and quiet as Hawk-kit, and never as rambunctious and headstrong as Hazelkit. He usually found ways to adapt to whoever he was with at the moment which made him well-liked as an apprentice but also got him into trouble when his sister would drag him into her antics. Since Hawk-kit was usually more level-headed and refused to participate in the usual troublesome kit activities, Rowankit was usually the one to tag along with Hazelkit in an attempt to keep her out of trouble. As a natural peacekeeper, it was always hard for Rowankit to say no to anyone for any reason, which became a running theme in his life. Like most kits, Rowankit was eager to become an apprentice with his siblings. As Hawkpaw became absorbed in his training, Rowanpaw and Hazelpaw grew closer and took every opportunity to perform their apprentice duties together, resulting in a strong bond between the two siblings. Besides the distance between Hawkpaw and Hazelpaw, Rowanstep's apprenticeship was one filled with excitement and friendship, and he often fondly recalls those days of little responsibility with fondness. Just as it started to appear that their training might close the rift between his two siblings, Hawkpaw was killed in a tragic accident while playing a scavenger hunt that Hazelpaw cooked up for the apprentices. When his mother died soon after, he and the rest of his family had to mature in ways they weren't yet prepared for. While his sister, blaming herself for Hawkpaw's death, grew more serious and dutiful as she became a warrior, Rowanstep desperately clung to his easy-going personality and always tried to see the bright side of things. Rowanstep didn't like to take his work seriously, even after losing his father in a bloody battle that still sours the minds of his clan. To Rowanstep, it was an event that couldn't be prevented and he doesn't dwell on the past if he can help it. When the former MarshClan deputy suddenly died from an unknown illness, Rowanstep was shocked to find himself suddenly promoted to deputy. He had never imagined himself in such a position of power and the thought of being held responsible for a clan was dizzying to him. He tried to refuse the position but he was too unwilling to let his leader down and finally accepted his role. He has many doubts about his abilities but he tries to remain positive and take it one day at a time and views his mistakes as learning opportunities. Apprentice: Open! Her fur is a sandy tawny shade from her shoulders to her flanks, with darker streaks down her back and tail, and cream on her lower half. The shades of brown blend into one another more readily than her brother Rowanstep's, and she lacks his distinctive dark facial markings, making her face appear softer and more gentle when she isn't scolding some other cat's apprentice for being lazy. Personality: (Outspoken, veracious, dedicated) Hazelcreek is a proud and fiercely dedicated warrior of MarshClan, and not even the boldest cat would question her unwavering loyalty. Though she has a habit of scolding others, she usually has the best intentions in mind and does so for the sake of the clan. Of the two siblings, she is the most likely to speak out against authority, much to the chagrin of Rowanstep. Hazelcreek is more likely to befriend older cats who can appreciate and take part in friendly banter, such as elders or cats who have nothing to prove by becoming unnecessarily hostile. Apprentices tend to avoid her, and MarshClan's leader Wolfstar is holding out hope to find a headstrong young cat to assign as her first apprentice. Biography: As a kit, Hazelkit was constantly squabbling with her brother Rowankit and challenging him to all sorts of competitive games. Try as she might, she could never get Hawk-kit to join in with much enthusiasm. All three kits were competitive and capable, which caused everything to turn into a contest in Hazelkit's eyes. From who could sneak up on an elder the best, to the fastest dash back to the nursery at night, Hazelkit always strived to be the best, though she emphasized the importance of sharing victories with family. Her friendly competition created a lasting bond with Rowankit that has only grown stronger with age. The day for Hazelkit to become an apprentice couldn't have come soon enough. From the time she could speak, she had the Warrior Code memorized and took it very seriously. Though she still held competitions and eagerly encouraged Hawkpaw to join in despite his hesitancy, there was now a clear goal in mind--she wanted to become the best warrior she could possibly be, and as quickly as possible. As she and Hawkpaw were both industrious and loyal members of MarshClan, their shared enthusiasm for progressing through their apprenticeship became the foundation of their relationship, and she would often quiz him on the exact wording of the Code when she could get him to stop practicing his fighting techniques. Just as the two were forming a tight bond, tragedy struck during a scavenger hunt game that Hazelpaw had spent nearly a moon planning for her two siblings to compete in. It was a particularly windy day and the river was churning more than usual as Hawkpaw jumped from rock to rock in the roaring water. Hazelpaw saw him slip on the damp rocks and, the next thing she knew, he disappeared into the dark waves. His body was found four days later. Hazelpaw blamed herself for the accident and fell into a deep mourning for her lost sibling, leaning even heavier on Rowanpaw's support. When their mother's life slipped away from illness, Hazelpaw only stressed the importance of family more to her brother and she grew to idolize her father who remained stoic in the face of grief and doubled down on his Warrior duties. She pushed herself towards becoming a Warrior even harder and finally earned herself the name Hazelcreek. Though many MarshClan cats assumed that Hazelcreek would loosen up a bit now that she had attained her goal, she only began to work harder at proving herself a loyal Warrior. Unfortunately, her chance to prove herself came when a skirmish with SunClan broke out over a territory dispute. Hazelcreek's father was taken from her that night and she grew colder as her family shrank. Thoughts of her lost parents and brother would suddenly catch her off guard and she would become quiet for days on end as she turned inward and ignored those around her, focusing only on her duties. The only cat she will exchange more than the bare minimum with currently is Rowanstep, though he can see that the light in her eyes is gone. His fur is bright white with a patch of dark brown over his head, left eye, and tail, as well as a lighter brown splotch over his back. He keeps his fur well-groomed and tidy but his claws are often dull. Personality: (Sagely, thoughtful, fastidious, spacey) Longtrek is somewhat of an enigma in MarshClan but he is a gentle and wise cat who is always willing to lend an ear, though he's been known to not respond once he's been told someone's troubles, instead letting them stew in their own thoughts. He will give advice to those who truly need it but he likes to give it in roundabout ways. His healing methods are sometimes a bit unorthodox but he always acts in the best interest of his patient, regardless of clan affiliation. He is a pacifist at heart and it hurts him deeply to see the clans fight. Biography: Born Harekit, he had an average childhood as would be expected for a budding Warrior. He became an apprentice right on track and couldn't have been more excited. Harepaw worked hard as an apprentice and showed great promise with his natural mind for battle tactics and his well-built frame. The praise he received from his mentor, as well as others' mentors, fueled his ego and he became a braggart and thought he was untouchable. He became a warrior before most of the other apprentices his age and was sure not to let the others forget it. Harerush was the star of the clan and felt like he owned the whole forest. A fellow Warrior who had grown up with him, Ivyclimb, became his mate and he was on top of the world. They were unable to have kits for many seasons but Ivyclimb finally became pregnant and the two began planning names and excitedly talking about their family that would soon come. StarClan, however, had other plans. In a cruel twist of fate, not only were Harerush's kits taken from him, but so was his beloved mate even before they were all born. With a heavy heart, he named the two kits who had been birthed after the two names Ivyclimb had picked out, and he buried his family in silence. He left the clan that night without so much as a goodbye, for he realized he had nobody left to say goodbye to. Harerush was gone for many seasons and the clan had assumed he either died or left, never to return. Nobody is sure of what happened but he reappeared one morning at dawn with a limp and a new name--Longtrek. He told the clan that he had been contacted by StarClan to return as a whole new cat and become the Medicine Cat of MarshClan. The clan was in awe and disbelief, as they had only the night before buried their former Medicine Cat who died suddenly and without an apprentice. It wasn't easy for an untrained cat to become Medicine Cat but, after talking with the other Clans' Medicine Cats and a bit of trial and error, Longtrek has become an established part of the Clan once again. Those who knew him in his youth are likely more than a bit off-put by his new persona, as he has completely changed his entire being, even becoming a pacifist in his absence.
