With businesses making the move across the bay and much of the population following suit, economics of the area exploded. In addition, with the harbor already the bay's most widely used port, it was simply expanded upon until it became the busiest in all of the US. Crime in the major city is relatively low with regular patrols keeping a watchful eye on the day to day of every citizen. Outside however, most noticeably in the surrounding [color=white]Old Oakland[/color] area, crimes rates rise and continue to do so practically unhindered.[/cell][/row][/table][h3][sub][sub] [sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][img]https://i.imgur.com/W6pnnSa.jpg[/img][img]https://i.imgur.com/JaJQ0cr.jpg[/img][img]https://i.imgur.com/OzCNso8.jpg[/img][img]https://i.imgur.com/RbK6Wzc.png[/img][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][right] [color=black]P O L I C E D E P A R T M E N T   of   C A L I F O R N I A  [/color] [color=white]P O L I C E D E P A R T M E N T   of   C A L I F O R N I A [/color][/right][/sub][/h3][table=bordered][row][cell][/cell][/row][row][cell] Located just inside Greater Oakland. This towering structure comprises the headquarters of the Policing Department with jurisdiction of all of California. The design itself is rather straightforward. Black rectangular shape that juts into the sky and breaks the horizon from all angles. The base stretches for a total of ten city blocks, or around 50,000 square feet making it near the largest building in the city. At a little over 300 stories, the structure is without a doubt the tallest. Taking precedence over local law enforcement, the PDC and all state departments like it patrol the entirety of that state. A specialized unit meant to investigate crimes of a higher profile while law enforcement established in specific cities take on the smaller posts. This distinct separation was a necessity put into place after the population of Earth began to skyrocket. Crime reached an unprecedented height and a drastic change to the judicial system had to be made. [color=bca346]N O T A B L E L O C A T I O N S[/color] [color=white]Check-In.[/color] Besides being a second home for the men and women who have sworn protection over the state, and to those who wish to disrupt it, the PDC Headquarters also doubles as a hub for information exchange. This information usually arrives by way of traffic through the levels designated "Check-in". State law requires all private vessels entering and exiting the state to a mandatory screening. Although this can be completed at any of the various PDC Hubs across California, time for processing is quickest at HQ. [color=white]Holding.[/color] Below ground level. The further one descends, the more dangerous the criminals being held there are. The nature of prison's design makes escape virtually impossible, not to mention it's situated directly below PDC HQ. The first few floors are for temporary holds lasting a handful of days at most. Everything after is more prolonged approaching permanence. [color=white]Office of the Chief Of Police.[/color] Near the top floor. Overlooks an expanse of the Greater Oakland area.[/cell][/row][/table][h3][sub][sub] [sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][sub][img]https://i.imgur.com/q8SycWZ.png[/img][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][right] [color=white]P E O P L E [/color][/right][/sub][/h3][table=bordered][row][cell][/cell][cell][/cell][/row][row][cell][right][img]https://i.imgur.com/S4zCO8P.jpg[/img] [color=2e2c2c]___________________[/color][/right][/cell][cell][color=bca346]C H I E F of P O L I C E L O R E L E I[/color] Usually only available via appointment, her job tending to keep her busy enough where a visit by walk-in is near impossible. If summoned, it's usually a good idea to find out why you were called. Although the youngest to make Chief of Police, Lorelei is no less fierce than her predecessors, if not more so. She takes her job seriously and expects the people under her command to do the same. With a strong moral compass and a strong sense for who she is and what she believes, Lorelei is ever pushing the boundaries of the grey world around her into the white... or at least trying to. Previous experience includes military time served during the uprisings on Mars and the third Cold War before that. A decade in between service as a service woman to the state, and honorary marks throughout her itinerary at school. [color=white]Documented.[/color] Augmented right arm.
