Her hair is often messy and unkempt, and regularly gets tied up by whatever she has on hand. She often wears simple, dirty tank tops and electrician's overalls and work boots. She's regularly dirty from her job as a general engineer. Personality: Ziona is quiet, preferring to keep to herself more often than not. Despite this, she is not shy, gravitating toward more charismatic people. When she does speak beyond niceties, her words carry all of her weight. She doesn't deal in deception, gossip, or idle chatter. When she does befriend someone, they are family to her, and she is intensely loyal. She is always listening, always paying attention to those around her, and being mindful of them. She does struggle when it comes to social conflict, preferring to shutdown or disappear until the conflict is over. However, this only exacerbates her greatest fear of being all alone. Backstory: Ziona has been studying and working to be a general engineer her entire life, the elite of the practical engineers, masters of plumbing, air systems, electrical, the list goes on and on. Being the daughter of a mechanical engineer and an electrician, she had much exposure to the training early on. She worked hard to learn everything she could, she earned her way into an engineering high school. She worked two jobs so that she could pay to go to an engineering academy. After graduation, she landed a job with a global firm, who had one particularly prestigious contract; New Atlantis. She worked long hours, pulling lots of overtime, taking the worst jobs in cities around the world that she hated, in the hopes of eventually working at New Atlantis. And eventually, she was accepted. She was added to the chatgroups of the engineers at New Atlantis, as she prepared for her trip there, awaiting her visa to be approved. The other engineers were friendly, welcoming, teaching her much about the place she would work. But when the lockdown struck, the conversations became much more subdued. The other engineers became much less helpful, more tight lipped. Something was off. But whenever Ziona asked about it, she was shutdown. That is, until one day, someone broke from the new normal, began sending her private correspondence, claiming to know the truth. But the truth never came, and she never heard from him again. And as she began to try and learn more about it, other things began to happen. Her visa got delayed multiple times, her job offer revoked. One of her mothers got fired from her firm on bogus charges. And that was when the woman appeared, and changed everything. Skills: Technical expertise, particularly in electrical, plumbing, ventilation, metallurgy, architecture, and similar engineering related fields. Microsoft excel Decently good cooking Abilities: Ziona's ability is of the arcane variety. Spectral Form - She can become spectral, ghost like, allowing her to move through objects and people. She can stay in her basic spectral form without expending energy, but further use of her powers will always constitute a drain. She can adjust the shape and size of this form, though larger forms require greater power and will force her to have to wait to recharge. She cannot become solid if any part of her is passing through an object or person. It typically takes a good bit of concentration for her to shift back and forth between her normal body and her spectral form. However, she can shift suddenly, but doing so drains her of energy and leaves her unable to shift again for a while. She can do partial shifting. While in Spectral Form, she can also become invisible, though this puts a drain on her form. Technopossession - While in her Spectral Form Ziona can possess machinery. In doing so, she gains access to all typical features of the machin; she cannot make a machine do things it could never already do. The larger the machine, the more of a drain it is to possess. If the machine is damaged heavily or destroyed while Ziona is possessing it, it will eject her from it, a process which tears much of her energy away and can damage her as well. Technophobic Curse - While in her normal state or in her Spectral Form, Ziona can touch a living being and inflict upon them a curse. This is an active ability, not passive, so Ziona can turn it on and off as needed. The duration and severity of the curse depend upon how long she can maintain a physical connection to the living being, at approximately a 1 hour curse time per 1 second of physical connection. The longer the physical connection is maintained, the higher the energy cost is on Ziona as well. Once the curse has been inflicted, it leaves a blackened imprint on the area of the body that was touched. The curse causes machines to malfunction, shutdown, refuse access, or become openly hostile toward the cursed victim. Ziona has some control over specifically which cursed actions occur, but must be thinking them as she applies the curse. The curse can be removed by the duration running out, by removing the afflicted area of the body, by killing Ziona, or Ziona can remove it by touching the cursed section (and recovering what portion of energy is left within it).
