Most demons are selfish enough to not really care if their own kind are eaten. To them it's a view of power so it's more akin to as you said. They eat humans so it's just nature humans would eat them in their mind. Keep in mind you're not eating the demon you're contracted to but the ones you hunt. Unless that's the kind of relationship you're in with your demon.
