He fought for his life daily in the arena to assert victory for his bidder, Kyōya experienced slavery and all kinds of cruelty in the black market. Eventually, after a year, he was rescued by the Military Police and rehabilitated back in Konoha, participated in the Chūnin Exams and had the third highest score.[/indent]
