Show me how unique your own team can be! NAME: Ezran Hawthorne AGE: 26 GENDER: Male BIRTHPLACE: Hammerlocke GYM TYPE: Poison
Hair Color Mixed black and white Eye Color Gold Height 6' 3" Weight 210lbs Build Slender but muscular Apparel Ezran dresses comfortably as he can in t-shirts and jackets of varying colors and designs depending on the weather or how he feels during a day. He usually has headphones on or around his neck at the very least to listen to music at a moments notice to unwind. His favored colors at the gym are usually shades of blue, green, or purple to match with his team. He can clean up well if need be with a wide selection of dressier clothes for the more formal events that the gym leaders need to attend, but he's much happier to dress down and enjoy himself.
PERSONALITY: Confident and dependable, Ezran is an easy person to get along with provided you don't get on his bad side. If that's the case he can be just as snappish and toxic as the poison type pokemon that he works with, but thankfully it takes a lot to get to that point. He is hard working at anything and everything, but mainly things that grab his interest completely. He can be somewhat easily distracted so if it doesn't work out every part of his brain he's more likely to lose interest. He's strongly of the opinion that no one should be judged by how they look or who they are, but rather the quality of their personality. He came to this realization after working with his poison types for many years and noticing that many people didn't seem fond of them. He'll take the time to get to know someone before really deciding if he wants to be their friend or not. Some people see this as putting in too much effort on things that mean very little, but Ezran is of the mind that the types of people you spend time with reflect the type of person you are. It does take some work to get Ezran to care deeply about someone or something, not to say that he's against closeness by any means, but he wants to make sure it's worth his time. Like many of the other trainers and gym leaders he cares deeply about his pokemon, even the ones that aren't his main six. Training up his teams is something that he throws himself into 100% and if someone seems like they're giving less than that to their own team, he may decide not to fight them at all. If he is putting the work to get his team to be the best that they can then he expects his challengers to do the same. Overall, he is both a talented trainer and musician that will drive both himself and others to be the best that they can be no matter who they are or what others might tell them. His methods can seem somewhat harsh to people who don't know him well, but he means the very best for his pokemon, the other league members, and the challengers that come up against him. BIOGRAPHY: Born in the sprawling central city of Hammerlocke, Ezran spent the majority of his childhood exploring the historic back roads of the stone city with his older brother, only by a year, Zac and his gang of friends, or watching pokemon trainers from all over use his home city as a waypoint in their own journey to compete against the Champion of Galar. He was lucky enough to have a father who worked in the league, not as a gym leader more on the business side, and that gave him the opportunity to see a lot of pokemon battles that only furthered his desire to compete himself. Ezran always found himself fascinated with all types of pokemon like many kids his age. He and his friends would talk about which pokemon they'd want on their future teams when they began their own journeys. Of course they all wanted the coolest ones like dragon or fire types on their teams and for the longest time Ezran completely agreed with them. He thought about how he could put together the strongest and most amazing team of flashy and well known pokemon that would win him the League title. Once he was old enough of course. The only other hobby he found himself enamored with, other than pokemon, was music. For his birthday one year his father bought him a guitar and that was that. He spent hours and hours learning how to play, and since he couldn't become a trainer just yet he decided, why not become a musician. He roped in a few of his other friends and they started a small group, just for fun, until they found something better to do with their time. After a fairly short time most of them got bored and quit, but Ezran kept working at it. He took lessons, practiced, and eventually got to the point where he felt comfortable performing in a few of the smaller venues around Hammerlocke and other nearby cities. He knew it wasn't what he wanted to do as a career, but he still found a great deal of joy in the small shows he put on. Fate or, as his father would call it, dumb luck had other ideas of course. Just before he was getting ready to begin his own journey to compete against the gyms of the region he was headed home from one of his later night performances and found a young Toxel thrown into a dumpster; screaming and crying out. While didn't really know much about poison types, wasn't fond of them in the slightest, he couldn't leave it behind and took Minuet as his first teammate. Skittish, weak, and not well suited for battling at all his brother teased him mercilessly about his lackluster performance, but that only motivated him to make his team stronger than Zac's by using the, much less loved, poison type. He didn't care that Toxel wasn't the most well suited to battling, and instead of giving up on her he worked twice as hard to help her gain confidence and strength. With careful and kind hands he was able to evolve Minuet into an amped up Toxtricity that joined him both in battle and in music. It took a long time, a great deal of battling, and a great deal of loss, but he eventually defeated the gyms, as well as his brother and struck out against the champion only to lose in the last moments of the fight, but he felt he'd proven himself well enough and wanted to get more back into his music, see the world, that sort of thing. He spent several years traveling and performing all over the world with Minuet and even found some new teammates in his journey. He found unique teammates like Noble-his dragalge and Blitz-his salazzle in far away regions; training them up from their first evolution into strong and reliable pokemon. After putting together a fully poison type team he decided to head back home to Galar. He'd decided he didn't want to try and beat the Champion again, but still wanted to help other young trainers in their mission to do what he couldn't. Given this decision and his newly minted poison team he set out to build up a poison type gym and has been serving as it's leader for the past several years. TEAM:
Minuet (Gigantimax Amped Toxtricity)-Ezran's signature pokemon one would expect the amped up Toxtricity to be loud and vying for the spotlight at any time, but she is actually one of the more lax members of the team. It's actually difficult to get her to get fully invested in a fight, but when she does it is a real show. She doesn't really like to stay in her pokeball so she's usually walking a step behind Ezran. Armon (Nidoking)-From the time he was a Nidoran, Armon was always a bit of a prankster. Leaving mushed berries or poison barbs in beds he is the most light-hearted member of the team, but also gets on the others nerves when he pulls a prank just before a big fight. Noble (Dragalge)-Noble is true to her name as a quiet, regal tank of the team. A unique pokemon to see in the Galar region she is happy to drift in the background and watch with careful eyes at the goings on of the rest of the team. Varian (Scolipede)-Stubborn and unyielding it took Ez a great deal of time working with Varian when he caught him as a Venipede to gain his loyalty and be trusted as Varian's trainer. After quite some time he finally got the headstrong bug type to evolve into Scolipede and take a place on his main team. Ty (Drapion)-Ty is a bit of a guard dog towards the rest of the crew and Ezran especially. Highly protective and a bit overzealous he is the one to leap in front of another teammate and take a hit himself if it meant keeping everyone else safe. Blitz (Salazzle)-Rash and intrepid, Blitz really fits her name as she is all about rushing in and striking hard before retreating just as fast to prepare for the next hit. She is a fast attacker but also doesn't miss an opportunity to chill out and relax.

Wackjaw (Crobat) Wackjaw has been mischievous and incredibly quick, in both actual speed and whatever wit pokemon seem to have, since he was a Zubat. One of the very first pokemon Ezran ever caught on his journey, as many other trainers do, he decided to keep the problem prone bat on his team until it eventually evolved into Crobat and became the starter on his challenge team. He absolutely must be kept apart from Armon or the two will cause havoc. Jazz (Skuntank) Jazz is the most relaxed of all the members of both teams. She's perfectly happy to sit back in her pokeball instead of leap teeth bared into the fray, but she does have her strengths. Mostly in taking hard hits that the rest of the team might not be able to. Her favored spot is not in the stadium, but rather in any spot of sunlight she can find. Bruce (Toxicroak) Careful and observant Bruce serves as a difficult opponent in the gym as he is both fast and can pack some serious power into his blows. He's great at picking up on patterns and noticing where his opponents are weakest in order to hit the very hardest. Out of the stadium he likes to sit back and relax, much like Jazz, only he is awake and watching the shenanigans of Ezran's other teamembers. Forte (Low-Key Toxtricity Gigantimax) Much more back of the line than his amped up counterpart Forte doesn't always live up to his name, but he can still fight with the best of them and is Ezran's signature pokemon for his challenge team for a good reason. He's much more modest about his capabilities than Minuet, but still travels around and performs with Ez on stage when they're not busy during the challenge season.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Hestia-I can definitely get behind her passion and drive. Getting back on your feet after any loss is tough and she never lets anything keep her down for too long. Feel like she needs to find something to direct that drive towards though. Other than Pokémon that is. Joseph-We both grew up in Hammerlocke so I think I probably saw him around when we were younger. Didn’t ever really get to know him all that well, but he seems like a good guy and his show seems fun despite not having much time to watch it. Moira-She's the quietest out of all the other gym leaders which is a nice change of pace. Always know I can go to her if I need time to just chill out and get away from everything. Fiona-She’s a real wild card. Never really know what kind of stuff she has planned next but that’s what makes her fun to hang around; even if she can seem a bit abrasive at times. Always something new going on. Malik-Malik’s a good guy; can always count on him to keep me on my toes especially when it comes to battling. He does so much for the league I’m honestly surprised he can keep any of it straight but everything always gets done, it’s crazy. Maybe one day I’ll finally be able to convince him to relax for more than 5 minutes. Nordrin-I don’t know him that well despite both our gyms being in the same city. Heard quite a bit through rumors, but I’ve got no idea which are true. He can be a bit harsh but I’m pretty sure he’s got a good heart under it all. Zeke-I don’t really know what to think of Zeke to be honest. He’s a show off and kind of an asshole in front of the press, but I’m positive there’s more to him than that. I know he’s driven and has a brain under all that muscle, but it’s hard to tell which parts of him are for show and which aren’t. Thomas-Never really had much interaction with him, but he’s a good guy from what I’ve heard. Always looking out for the challengers that come through and making sure they don’t let loss discourage them. I’d be interested in battling against him. See what kind of strategies he has against poison types. Elijah-Can’t think of a better person to lead off the gym challenge. Sure he could make a tough opponent later on but his willingness to help out beyond just the battle is admirable and makes him a great entry point. He’s definitely the person to go to for tips and tricks even if he could use a bit more exuberance. Henrietta-Again I don’t know her very well, but I can’t help but admire the determination she’s got to succeed in whatever she sets her mind to. I thought I was driven until I saw the one track mind she has when it comes to being a gym leader. Liam-He doesn’t let other people dictate who he is or what he does, I can respect that. Never really sat down and had a conversation with him, but hopefully there isn’t any bad blood between us since I raise poison types. Isla-She’s the newest of the bunch if I remember correctly. I heard about her accident when it happened, always hurts to see someone talented have their career ended too early. Got great potential to make it to the major leagues though from what I can tell.
