"I'm the one who made sure she will end up on her own," mr Johnson retorted. "But she will be on her way soon. At one point she'll have to give up looking for her partners to go after the gem." And if she wouldn't he'd have an excuse to break ties with her; an agent that would let a human die had no place in their agency. "I haven't received word about her other partner," he continued. "He is not in our agency. I assume they will go together."

"Wouldn't be surprised about that," the agent replied. "Succubi are known to seduce men and break marriages. I don't see why this one would be an exception. Bloody monsters."
He drove away from the mansion and away from the city Steph had visited with Ben that day. The compound was hidden in an abandoned farm a few kilometres from this place. The van hit a bump in the road, not hard enough to do any damage, but hard enough to be felt. Especially by those in the back.

"Inside, I guess," Ethan said to Duncan. "Haven't seen her for a while now. I guess she has no clue what happened to her teammates."
Granted, none of them knew for sure either, but Ethan was willing to bet everything he had that they were in that van that drove away. And there was no way any of them could do to stop it. He glanced aside. Except maybe for Mike. But having someone with wings would probably work better. And he shouldn't do so here.
"Let's go inside," he said to Benjamin, trying to make him understand it was important they would. "We'll help Duncan find Harriet, they guy said it was important."
"Yes, sure, let's do that," Benjamin agreed. "But I don't have the key to the door."

The female agent shook her head and opened the front door for them again. It had only been locked to make sure no-one they didn't want here would stumble upon their operation, but with that completed the door could be open again.
