Kire grinned. “Well, I’m glad my cousin redeemed himself. Honestly I’d be pissed too if I knew it was that easy to beat him. Reflects badly on my skills,” she said with a chuckle. To her other question, though, Kire looked ahead, remembering her gaffe earlier. “Uh. I mean. I would love—[i]like[/i] to,” she said, wincing at the word. “Things seem to be going well. I think. Except perhaps for just a tiny fraction of a blunder I made at breakfast today.” She cringed. “I, uh, accidentally called him, uh, ‘love’,” she said, saying the last word in a whisper as if it was a curse. “Don’t tell him I told you, and don’t make a big thing out of it. I’ve got a sun goddess to worry about already.”
