She could finally take a deep breath and look forward to enjoying the first day of her Junior year. As much as she loved her brother, in some ways Aiden was more protective of Liv than their parents. He went out of his way to intimidate any guy or gal that tried to approach his baby sister, which was not exactly the best thing for her social or dating life. But now that he was busy with Fiamma and Senior year shenanigans he’d have no time to police her… which meant that from this moment forward she was free to do as she pleased. Liv, with Trixie in tow, began to make her way towards the main building (which she had to admit did look like it could collapse in on itself at any possible moment), a wide grin seeming to be permanently stuck to her face. Today was a fresh start by starting at a different school and the blonde was evidently thrilled about it. She had spent the last two weeks listening to Aiden bitch and moan about the transfer, but forever the opposite of her brother, Liv was excited about the prospect of a clean slate. Her blue eyes gazed around the parking lot and tried to pick familiar faces out of the crowd of students greeting each other, but was met with no known entities. It was then that she spotted a boy dressed as Tuxedo Mask emerging from an unassuming car. Liv couldn’t help but laugh as she watched him gallantly stroll towards the general direction of the front doors handing out beautiful red roses as he went. Rosefell sure had some… characters. Her giggle must have carried over to where he was because the next thing the blonde knew he appeared within an arm's reach and extended a delicate flower out to her before disappearing into the crowd. Liv smiled graciously but couldn’t get in a word edgewise as the mystery cosplayer departed. The blonde turned to her latina best friend, “Guess I’m already turning a new leaf,” she commented, twirling the stem of the rose between her thumb and index finger before tilting the fake flower towards Trixie playfully. Smiling and rolling her eyes at her closest friend, Trixie pulled the flower out of her hand and muttered, "A new leaf, huh?” After scanning around them, the foreign crowd, the boys and girls they didn’t know, and the ones they knew, Trixie started feeling anxious. What if her brother was right to be stressed about this? To build a whole new reputation. Start completely over. Maybe getting casted off? She knew she’d be fine, but things were starting to set in finally. This was the first day of Junior year and it was clear they weren’t in Kansas anymore. With fidgety hands she snapped the stem of the rose close to the bud. "Oh shit.” To fix what she just did, she leaned in and put the rose in Liv’s hair, rested it on her right ear, "There. It really compliments the white.” The youngest Kingsley’s voice subtly shook. No matter how much Trixie can try, she couldn’t hide her nerves from Liv. Liv gasped as Trixie split the stem from the bud as easily as stepping on a twig. She knew that her friend was nervous for their first day at Rosefell, but she didn’t realize she was that nervous. Although she didn’t mind the welcome addition to her outfit, the red rose adding a nice pop of color to her monochrome ensemble, she was a little concerned about how Trix was taking all of this. Delicately, the blonde girl grasped her bestie's hand and squeezed it. “It’s going to be okay, I promise.” Liv reassured her with a comforting smile. “You and me, remember?” "Yeah, absolutely! You and me.” Like they did when they were kids, Trixie lifted her pinky and grabbed Liv’s in return. A sweet, innocent gesture that no matter what happened this year, they would find their way back to each other. They always did. Unfortunately for the best friends, their shared, short moment together was ripped away from each other. They wouldn’t get the opportunity to talk about clubs, about meeting up later, about anything, because Trixie’s tour guide tapped on her shoulder. “Fuckin’ shit, there you are!” The brunette was surprisingly shorter than both Liv and Trixie. While Liv was standing at 5’4, Trixie at 5 even, this girl was 4’11” and kind of felt like an ankle biter. She was called by her classmates: “The Raging Bull”. “Call me Nellie, any other names you hear, trash it.” Trixie was a deer in headlights when she saw how abrasive this girl was. To those that did know her, she was a senior who went by the name Helena Perfect, but it was clear she had a rowdy, rough attitude and took no shit from anyone. “I ain’t here to waste your time, and you sure as hell ain’t going to waste my time so come on. We’re gonna’ make this quick. I have a date with my magic conch in ten.” Before she walked away, expecting Trixie to follow, Nellie glared at the blonde, “That’s a pretty white dress you got there. Fan-fuckin’-tastic choice for this shithole. I’m sure by the end of the day, it’ll still be white.” Trixie quickly pulled Liv into a hug and whispered, “Hopefully your tour guide is less… mad.” The blonde was certainly taken aback by the girl’s harsh demeanor, but wasn’t all too surprised that such people roamed the halls of their new school. Liv made a point to give the Nellie girl a sickeningly sweet grin even though her “compliment” may have been in a negative spirit, looking her over to try and find any redeeming qualities to comment on. “Your jeans are cute… shocked that they don’t have more holes in them, but they work.” Liv stated, a touch more judgemental than she normally would have. “Aw thanks princess. I’m sure that lip of yours will get you far.” With her back turned to Liv, Helena marched away, unbothered. With their delightful acquaintance now gone, the blonde hugged her latina bestie tightly, tighter than before. “I’m sure it won’t be that bad. Text me when you get to your first class so I know you’re still alive.” “You too. Love you, Livvy.” Once their long moment came to a close, Trixie pulled herself away and hurriedly made her way to her tour guide (yepp, still in her heels). Liv smirked as she watched Trixie scurry away in an attempt to catch up with her tour guide who was doing everything but touring her around. As soon as she disappeared into the crowd, the blonde took a deep breath before confidently walking in the same direction and opening the front doors of Rosefell High. Where she was supposed to go now that she was inside, she didn’t know, but as long as she looked good doing it, it didn’t matter if she was headed in the wrong direction. Speeding from a side hall, in a cheap ass knight suit, where it looked like it was going to break off because Spike was surprisingly fit, the mascot of the school came roller blading down the hall with the bag of lollipops. He threw some candy at a group, “Hearts for everyone! We are sooooooooooooooooooooooo happy you’re here.” He was going so fast that the sudden, random cute blondie coming down another hall was unexpected. He was quick to dodge her ever so slightly, his speed causing her hair to fly with him. “Woah man. SAFETY. SAFETY ON.” However, he was too late to break and as a result, he rammed into the main office’s large glass window, falling on his ass. “Oh my god,” Liv exhaled, completely startled by the interaction but also concerned for the poor kid in the costume. A few people looked in their general direction to see what the commotion was about, but surprisingly no one seemed to go to his aid, so the blonde quickly walked over to where the boy was laying on the ground, “Are you okay?” She asked innocently, having no context as to who this guy was and what he was doing in the mascot suit. Seeing birds for a second, Spike’s sight slowly registered reality and his reality in front of him was a beautiful blonde, one of those cinnamon roll looking kind of girls, like her father was a preacher or some shit, gorgeous but clearly too good for a piece of shit like him. Out of his league. A goofy grin rose on his face. Once he grabbed the nearest heart lollipop which happened to be in the shade of blue, he offered it to her all the while laying on the floor, “Wow, somebody better call God, because he’s missing an angel.” The blonde gave the boy a knowing look, but took the sucker anyway and tried to resist the urge to roll her eyes. “Funny,” she commented sarcastically, “guess you hit your head pretty hard, huh?” “Nah man, I know hot when I see it.” Exuberantly picking himself up, like this happens all the time, using no support but his core muscles, Spike was back on his feet in no time and offered his hand, “Hi, I’m Spike Langley and welcome to Jackass.” She smirked, taking his hand and shaking it. “Olivia Howard, but my friends call me Liv.” The girl replied, putting two and two together to delineate the type of person Spike was. “Any chance you can point me in the direction of where the tour guides are?” She pulled out her phone to double check the name of the person who was going to be showing her around. “I’m supposed to find someone named Rachelle Rawlins?” “Oh, no shit. I got you. Rae’s a little weirdo, but I think you got yourself a good deal.” Gesturing for Olivia to follow him, he cruised down the hall much slower than before so he was only inches in front of the Liberty student, “Liv’s a nice name, so yeah, cool.” He tossed candy out a lot calmer now, as he cheerily asked his new acquaintance, “Got any plans? Any clubs you might want to join?” “If I’m being honest, I’m just trying to make it through today.” Liv expressed candidly, following Spike as they made their way to supposedly where this Rae girl was. As they passed by people, she tried to pick out familiar faces from Liberty but could only identify a few. Did any of the Liberty kids decide not to show? She bet that some of them got a ‘get out of jail free card’ by transferring elsewhere. “Any tips?” She asked in an attempt to make small talk and get the inside scoop on this place as they hopefully neared their destination. “My only tips revolve around people. Melissa Elliot… don’t get on her bad side. I’m sure you know how Queen Bees work, she’s our’s. And uh, let’s see, a lot of boys would want to take a piece of your cake, coming from me, who thinks you’re hot… so be careful. Like, stay away from Rico. Fuck Rico.” Well, that was actually quite useful. The blonde nodded, taking the boy’s advice willingly as they weaved around other students. Aiden would easily find out soon enough which guys were thirsting after his sister, so at least she was able to get a head start on who to avoid. “Get on Melissa’s good side and stay away from Rico. Got it. Anything else I should know?” Liv asked, appreciating Spike’s brief roadmap. “Uh, I guess if you want some good friends. Sean Bergara, or Tuxedo Mask, a theater dweeb, and Ellie Roberts, sweetheart artist, would be a good start. But if you want… questionable friends, I got names for that too, but I’m sure you’ll know their name soon enough. Don’t be surprised if a fight happens today, and tomorrow, and the next day.” Approaching the sign-up table, Spike saw Cael, and happily hollered, “Cael, my man! It’s good to see you, sorry to interrupt. But, where’s the gremlin? This lovely girl here has her as a tour guide.”’ Looking over his shoulder, back at Liv, Spike gestured his thumb to Cael, “Good guy here too. Makes the best damn drinks at Plouf,” He did lean in, not so discreet, and whispered in Liv’s ear while Cael seemed distracted by a pale, mysterious boy, “A little bit of a gossip, but who isn’t nowadays?” This would be good for Liv to know, if she wants to be in the ‘know’ about everything and anything, Cael was your guy. He knew all the tea. Even tea that was still brewing. He's the first responder on the tea-train. The tea FAIRY! Liv took a one look at Cael and immediately recognized him from Plouf. She and Trixie frequented there after school when either of their brothers was willing to drive them- the Almond Chai Lattes were her favorite. But who she also identified as another familiar face was Christian Barker, who stood only a few feet away. It was comforting to finally see someone from Liberty who she recognized walking the halls here at Rosefell, and especially Chris of all people. She had AP History with him last year and thought he was cute, so she made Trixie at the time do some reconnaissance to figure out who he was. The blonde stole a glance at the dark haired boy with a smirk, but looked back over to Spike and Cael quickly in order to pay attention. "Oh, hey, Spike." Cael responded, breaking his gaze from the two handsome Liberty newcomers just long enough to glance at Spike. "Rae? I last saw her around the corner, she was actually going to find you. Olivia, right?" He confirmed, looking to Liv now and waving politely. "Sorry I can't be much help, your guess is as good as mine as to where she ended up. Can I still have a lollipop, though?" “Damn, okay. Thanks, and duh you can. Here.” He placed way more lollipops than necessary in Cael’s hands, “I’m sure these boys over here would love something to suck too.” Not wasting any more time, Spike contemplated his next move, “I got an idea, follow me!” Instead of going to the entrance outside, or wasting any time searching like fools, they walked back and headed straight to the office that Spike rammed his face on. Liv didn’t even get a chance to say thank you to Cael before Spike whisked her away back to where they were a few moments previous. She could have gotten whiplash from how quickly the boy was moving- it seemed as though when he wanted to do something, he needed to do it that second and not a moment later. But she didn’t mind. Spike had a good energy about him (although a little crude) and she could tell from only just meeting him that he meant well. Entering the office, Spike was quick to scan the area. It was vacant, as to be expected. The two secretaries were probably indulging in breakfast sandwiches and drinking hot cocoa in the principal’s office. They loved using JPJ’s office when he was away. He had the best room in the house, and they had keys to it. His favorite secretary was Jennifer Apple, but he liked calling her ‘Applebottom’. To this day, she hasn’t corrected him, evening finding his goofiness endearing. There was no doubt he was her favorite too. Not wanting to be rude, he did call out, “Mizzzzzzzz Applebottom!” Like he expected, she creaked the principal’s door open and smiled at him, “What do you need, Spike?” She had no ounce of annoyance or anger. Only a bright disposition and a kind smile. This seemed to be normal for her. Being interrupted by students for their little whims of the day. “Melissa wants me to make an announcement, can I? You know for school spirit, wooooooo!” “Make it quick, you know how Berkley feels about you kids using the system. Don’t worry, I got you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta’ finish my bacon, egg, and cheese.” The young secretary winked at the boy, before closing the door and resuming her conversation with the other one. Awesome. Too easy. Grinning at Liv, he went past the counter, beyond the point kids are permitted to enter, and went straight to Apple’s desk. Adjusting the mic, Spike sat in Apple’s seat and gave his acquaintance a thumbs up, “You asked, and you will receive.” “But I didn’t ask for-” Immediately afterwards, Spike pressed the red button and without a care in the world, talked to the whole school, inside and out of the building, “Yo, yo, yo. It’s your boy Spike, hoping all you cool kids are enjoying being back at school and for you Liberty peeps out there, welcome, man. It’s good to have you here, joining the Knights. Remember to get your fake rose from Tuxedo Mask and a lollipop from me, the guy in the knight suit. There’s also some breakfast shit in the cafeteria. Now, can Rachelle Rawlins please come to the main office? Rachelle Rawlins PLEASE come to the main office. I got a special delivery, just for you! BYEEEE!” He hung up, but then realized he forgot something, he pressed the button again, “Also Red, sorry for being an ass! DeVito didn’t mean it. Well I did, but you know... Kay, bye.” That sure was one way to find Rae. The blonde laughed as the ever energetic Spike delivered his announcements, the nerves of her first day dissipating. Something about the way that he was acting was different from any Liberty kid she had met previously, and maybe that was because it was evident that Spike didn’t care about what you thought of him. Liv raised an eyebrow after he released the button and was off the air, “Special delivery?” She questioned, crossing her arms over her chest. “It was that or bodacious blonde who is down for some funky shit with long legs and a short white dress on. I don’t need to make another girl mad today, so special delivery sounded a little better.” He grumbled to himself. “Since you were kind enough to give me some tips, Spike, I’m going to give you one too… if you ever meet a kid named Aiden Howard, I suggest you run.”
