Whether you spend time thinking about ideas without putting pen to paper, have won several Nanowrimos in a row, or are published, even, you might consider yourself a crafty person who enjoys showing everyone your ideas. What I've noticed from my time on RPG is that there's no one "writer's support group" or whatnot; I think it's necessary for writers to talk to writers about their writing, whether it's just their RP threads or even books that they're writing. I also think that this could open up connections between writers-- for instance, published authors or writers that have a completed work might even be able to mentor or guide aspiring authors! This thread serves as kind of an introductory post for a writer's club. It also serves as a sign up thread for the club! Most of our conversations will be held through Discord, which I think is more personal and easier to communicate with. Hell, if people really want, we can hold club meetings or contests and even post guides and videos! Of course, with every club comes a couple of rules. These rules are to protect the club's members and make sure that everyone has fun and remains comfortable. That's what the club is all about!
- No excessive negativity. Writing is hard, but if you always mope about not achieving what you want, then it's not going to get anyone anywhere. Try to keep your chin up. - Keep NSFW things in the NSFW channel. Since there won't be an age limit for this club, please be considerate of other members. If you would like to post smutty excerpts or need to talk about writing explicit scenes in your novel, keep it away from the minors. - Be respectful and listen. Don't talk at us, talk with us. We'll listen to what you have to say, but we also expect you to do the same. The club isn't just about one person-- it's about the community as a whole. - Keep active. If we don't hear back from you in a month, we'll assume you're inactive. Any more than two months, and we'll kick you from the group.
We hope you enjoy your stay at the RPGWC!
