[indent]William Free was a very particular man. A businessman from Seattle, Washington, whose job oftentimes took him to major cities all around the globe. Being the particular man that he was, William always travelled in the same exact way. The same airports, same airlines, always first class, and always the third row seat on the right. This routine led to Bill encountering many of the same flight attendants and, over time, one in particular caught his eye. A striking blue-eyed brunette by the name of Annalise Becker, although her last name wouldn’t remain [i]Becker[/i] for long. After a dozen or so shared flights and conversations, Bill had asked Anna on a date. After a year of courtship, he proposed, and a year after that, they were married. Annalise had become a flight attendant because of her love of travel. While Bill was a bit of a square, Anna was an adventurous free spirit. One would not expect such a pair to work, but they balanced each other out perfectly. Somewhere in between their travels from Seattle and abroad, the couple conceived their first child, Desmond. Des’ younger sister, Deidre, was born two years after that.

The Free children grew up together, bonding over their close age up until the point where boys and girls decide that they can no longer stand each other. The children also, more often than not, were raised by a nanny or their grandmother. William Free remained a workaholic even after starting a family, and both parents were often travelling to different countries for work, sometimes for extended periods of time. The only time of year that the family had guaranteed quality time together was for the holidays, which is why Desmond is so fond of that time of year.

Once Desmond was old enough to be somewhat self-sufficient, he started joining his parents (mostly his mother) on their trips abroad, when he had time off of school. As it turns out, Dezzy inherited his mother’s love of travel and adventurous heart. If he had gotten the chance to spend more time with her, he probably would have become one hell of a momma’s boy growing up. Desmond was always interested in snowboarding, but it wasn’t until he went on a trip to Switzerland that he really got a hungry passion for it. He started filming himself, or asking his mother to film him, or even some random passerby that he promised ski lodge food in return for filming him… and the rest is history.

Dez hopes to make a name for himself as a snowboarder, go pro, and hopefully make it to the big leagues — the winter olympics. He’s well on his way there, in his opinion. His mother supports his dreams while his father thinks he should have a more practical and financially stable plan for the future. His father’s thoughts and opinions have become much more vocal now that Des is in his senior year and hasn’t picked a college to attend (because he doesn’t plan to go). As such, tensions have been at an all time high, and Desmond has chosen to spend his first Christmas [i]away[/i] from his family by attending this camp. If he ignores his problems at home, maybe they’ll just go away. One can hope.[/indent][/indent]
