Sounds like a novel idea, if I do say so myself. So long as it can stay active and focused on the writing. 

And perhaps, something like a writer's group would help motivate me to work on a solo project. Instead of simply throwing in the towel and going on my first real/extended hiatus, at a time where I've outlasted one too many of my roleplaying partners this year. Though really, I'd much rather have the excuse to keep at it.
