[sup][sup][u][color=B87333]Copper[/color][/u][/sup][/sup][/h2][indent]It's hard to criticise those who are born talented, or from rich, powerful families- well, in Shogai's case, he wasn't rich nor powerful- much less talented, but he was born under a family of elite shinobi, a clan who's name [i]Murakami[/i], a clan residing in Amegakure, alone represented the individual potential of each of their peers. Naturally, Shogai was then destined to become an elite shinobi, it might not have been his goal of aspiration at some point... but he would never remember it after enduring one of the most severe training regimes known to shinobi, being beaten, broken, mended and healed only so he could continue his training. When he began his formal studies and he was asked by a teacher about his dream, his answer was given without second thought.

While he had an easy time through his studies because of his family enforcing him to religiously study, Shogai still wasn't satisfied. No matter how he trained, practiced, studied, attempted- there was [i]one[/i] individual that seemed to excel far more than him in his fields of interest: Those regarding shinobi. Sakana was also of a notable clan, it reflected as much in his appearance... but, he was individually blessed. He was above the meek, an individual of unbelievable potential and ultimately unreachable by Shogai.

That didn't decrease his spirit, let alone demotivate him on his... or rather, his clan's goal. He would still become a great shinobi because his clan dictated it. They would train him into one, sooner or later. If he could endure it... good. If not... well, it was never meant to be.[/indent]

[sup][sup][u][color=#C0C0C0]Silver[/color][/u][/sup][/sup][/h2][indent]Becoming a genin was the very first step and, apparently, the most tedious one. With his own thoughts more clearly formed and his own mentality and personality beginning to form, Shogai was starting to have questions. Doubts. Why was he meant to be a great shinobi again? He clearly wasn't predestined to be one by fate as he could clearly see what someone who [b]is[/b] with a glance. Even if he disregarded that, Shogai could literally breeze through mostly everything with exceptional grades despite his lack of inherited talent, simply because his family kept making him follow such strict training schedules.

As time passed, missions became more frequent and so did Shogai's family expectations. They became more demanding, reminding him that he was ready to pursue further goals on his own, such as becoming a chuunin. A little far fetched for an eleven years old genin, but Shogai took that to heart and began developing his own jutsu... As well as his own quirk. In a very harsh training session where he coincidentally wore a yellow tie with many blue lightnings designs over it, he discovered his second chakra nature: Raiton. He attributed it to the tie, of course, and from then onwards began a ritual to always wear the best tie for the occasion. He also began a collection of ties, since his clan provided everything to him, his earned money was spent mostly at ties.

Once he became thirteen, Shogai had became indeed quite a notable individual. With two chakra natures, notable abilities in fields such as taijutsu, bukijutsu, ninjutsu and genjutsu, being an overall complete shinobi, Shogai embarked on his first chuunin test, representing Amegakure, naturally. 

While the trip was uneventful and tedious, as soon as the exam began, many of Shogai's conceptions were broken down. First, amongst his team, he was entirely in another level. The other two genin were shinobi no less than he was, but their abilities were always unparalleled and such made Shogai rather arrogant. In the exam, he could on common ground: With shinobi, who like him, trained their whole life with the goal of becoming a shinobi.

It was how he was beaten and earned an interesting scar in his left eye and a valuable lesson from a total stranger who, after defeating Shogai, extended his hand to help him get back on his feet with a valuable lesson:

Despite the results, Shogai still earned the rank of chuunin. The fight between them was declared a spectacle- they were two individuals with impressive resistance and will, who spent their entire early life honing their shinobi abilities- it was the first time ever Shogai actually fought someone and was allowed to go all out. Even so, he lost... and not only that, he was entirely certain that he would win no matter what, his confidence so high that he mistreated his opponent from the beginning, who wished him good luck and a good fight at the beginning. 

Since Shogai's social interactions outside missions where he forcefully had to accompany his team were so few, he didn't exactly develop an outgoing personality. His inherent unfriendliness was simply a manner to steer away from interactions because he didn't knew how to deal with them. The chunin exam didn't simply promove his shinobi rank- it taught him valuable life lessons in diverse manners, with the fight against Makoko being the epicenter of it. After the event, Shogai did indeed learn how to humble down- he isn't exactly respectful, but he's well educated and that somehow seems to make up for it. 

For the five next years after earning the rank of chunin, Shogai didn't particularly do anything extraordinary. He did missions- some were interesting, others dangerous and tough. He had one or two of [i]these[/i] situations, got his first and second blood- and thanks to the difficulty in dealing with taking two lives in the same mission, developed a smoking habit which dwindled down over time, now, he simply appreciates a cigar in certain occasions. He had a girlfriend and a few flings there but apparently he doesn't do well in long relationships and that summarizes it, really.

He still trained and practiced. Even when he turned 18 and his clan pretty much stopped demanding it. He shrugged off most of the doubts and questions he had as a teenager, focusing his determination onto 'going as far as he possibly can'. If nothing, Shogai is at least hopeful that in the future, he will live through his [color=#FFD700][b]golden-era[/b][/color].
