Knowing what it's like to be an underdog, Akane values will power over natural talent.
Despite her matter-of-fact way of presenting herself, Akane is not an unkind person. She has never had that many friends so she's simply a little awkward around people, not having acquired the needed social skills from being around twenty other orphaned kids. To combat this, Akane has been trying to start conversations more often, trying to think of witty oneliners that make her sound more charismatic than she actually is. [indent][indent][indent][color=#d43824]Akane was born presumably in Sunagakure. Not much of her mother is known, as the girl was abandoned soon after birth. Not having anyone to take care of her, Akane lived her childhood in an orphanage with other unfortunate kids of varying ages. From the very beginning it was told to them that the chances of getting adopted were slim to none. The times were rough: no one wanted an extra mouth to feed, no less a malnourished orphan child.
Because of the circumstances, the orphans grew up without parental figures. Often it was the oldest at the orphanage who took care of the littlest, but when food was scarce and competition ruthless, a hierarchy formed between the kids. Newcomers were treated as the lowest caste, while the oldest and strongest kids ruled the place, forming cliques. To survive, Akane had to ally herself with the older children, proving them she was useful to them. Only by making your way into a clique could you have realistical survival chances. The ones outside of these groups would be subject to harsh bullying from other children.

Akane enrolled into Suna's ninja academy two years behind her peers. Because of her status and no one willing to look out for her, Akane was forced to stay back at the orphanage for those few years, looking after the younger kids. When she finally had a chance to join, she studied hard to become a genin. Even still, she had already lost a few years of time merely because of circumstances out of her control, and Akane was determined to catch up.

After three years of failing at the second part of Chuunin exams, Akane won on her fourth try, at age 20. Each time she lost against a shinobi with a different kind of special ability - a detail which did not escape her notice.
First year it was a kid from the Hyuuga family, the known family of Byakugan users. On her second try, Akane got beaten by a 12-year-old with a powerful kekkei genkai that just so happened to be strong against Akane's chakra nature. The third time she lost, it was to an Uchiha who won at the last minute thanks to his sharingan manifesting mid-battle.
Then, on her fourth try, Akane nearly decapitated her opponent in her frustration and rage. That time, she finally did win. But the victory felt bitter. It felt hollow. What was the point in training hard if someone else was just given that victory in a silver platter? Someone more fortunate who just happened to have a genetic advance. What was the point in anything if it was all a game of chance?

Instead of being defeated, Akane fuelled her frustration into becoming stronger. She would rise up by working hard. She would be powerful for [i]real,[/i] not with some cheats like dojutsu users. She had already built herself from the ground up so far. She could go further. She could reinvent herself. She could prove to the world, once and for all, that these rules were stupid. She would break the mold.

It took Akane only two years to reach the level of jounin after that. Something had changed in the woman. She had this burning determination that couldn't be quenched. In the span of four years, Akane trained excessively in the desolate deserts of Suna, developing her glass style.[/color][/indent][/indent][/indent]

It combines the earth and fire natures, effectively making her able to create glass from ground particles. This style can be confused with a Kekkei Genkai such as Crystal Release, but it is not.
Incompetent at genjutsu, average at taijutsu. Even without the lightning nature, Akane is very quick in her movements. Compensating for her lack of physical strength, she uses her speed.[/color][/indent][/indent][/indent]

The user creates and controls air currents from the palms of their hands. The technique is able to easily whip up loose dust in the area. It is also performed to create a controllable dust storm. Akane can combine this jutsu with her Glass Release: Piercing Glass Needles, to make the wind whip up her glass needles at the rate they're being created.

[b]Wind Style: Web of the Bladed Spider[/b]
Utilizing the terrain around her, Akane spins her chakra conductive string around objects (like trees) to create a near invisible net. She may combine this with Body Flickering Technique, or even with Air Current Wild Dance to obstruct the area. After implemented, Akane only needs to feed her wind chakra through the string and wait for the target to pass through, slicing themselves in the process. The faster the target is moving, the more severe the damage - the wind chakra makes the string so sharp it is capable of cutting most materials including flesh and bone. Can't be used if there is nothing to tie the string between, and avoidable if detected.

[b]Earth Style: Mineral Armour[/b]
The user flows earth-chakra through their body, absorbing the properties of earth around them to form a skin-deep armour that is transparent and is only visible when light reflects off it. Defends against blunt force trauma. Requires no extra chakra after initiating it, but needs a constant supply of stone to be maintained. Due to its reflective nature, the armour is able to shield Byakugan users from seeing inside the user. However by focusing their sight, this can be circumvented.[/hider]

[b]Glass Release: Piercing Glass Needles[/b]
Akane places her palms on the ground and releases her chakra to form sharp needles of glass that sprout in a wave from the ground. This mid- to long-range technique can be used to both harm and trap an opponent on the ground level.

[b]Glass Release: Shell of the Glass Beetle[/b]
Akane creates a shield made out of thick glass in one of two ways: placing her hands on the ground, or blowing sand from their hand. The transparent glass has an iridescent sheen to it.
Upon being struck the glass shatters, damaging the attacker with the resulting shards. The jutsu is especially effective against melee attacks. Because of it's chakra-packed and reflective nature, this jutsu protects the user from most dojutsu (most notably Byakugan) while behind it. Can be used to block ranged attacks too, but it will only inflict damage on short range.

[b]Glass Release: Molten Glass Breath[/b]
Akane places sand in her mouth and forms required seals to blow molten glass on her enemies. Short to medium range.

[b]Glass Release: Crimson Glass Blade[/b]
Akane places her hand on the ground to pull out a blade of glass she can wield as a weapon. Short range.

Akane parries an incoming melee attack with her weapon, followed by a spinning low kick and a punch. Lastly she uses a Wind Release technique to send the attacker flying back, allowing Akane to keep her distance.

While wielding her Rock Armour, Akane concentrates her chakra to her fists and flickers behind her target, delivering a single rapid punch to the enemy's back. The force of the blow sends the target flying back, and the Rock armor on her fist shatters like glass, piercing the target. Immediate melee range.

works similarly to Chakra Blades. The thin yet strong string is made out of a special material that allow's the user's chakra to flow through it. Combined with Akane's Wind Chakra, the string can be used to make near invisible yet devastating area traps that can cut through almost anything with ease. You can detect the string only by seeing light reflect off it (or by chakra-seeing abilities).

[b]Red Sand:[/b] Akane carries with her red sand from the desert. She uses it as a component for her glass release techniques. Because of the sand's red colour, the resulting glass has a red tint to it.

She rarely charges at the opponent head on, instead calculating her surroundings and using them to her advantage. She tends to avoid close-quarters combat, preferring to stay out of reach of the opponent if possible.
Akane excels in combat where she is able to move around a lot and keep her opponent at an arm's length. She isn't going to win in terms of physical strength and durability, so she has to rely on dexterity and careful placement of her tools and ninjutsu to gain the upper hand on the opponent. As long as Akane is able to keep her distance, she is devastatingly deadly.[/color][/indent][/indent][/indent]
