The perceptive might notice that Tom is more bright-eyed and aware than most drunkards one would meet on the street, and perhaps that he'd be reasonably handsome if it were not for the sad state of his condition. They may also notice that Tom's skin is marked sjth a veritable latticework of arcane symbols tattooed into his skin in white ink that barely shows against his pale skin.
