Now we're cookin' with gas!" Skylar pocketed the fossils he had just acquired, smiling at the bounty and putting them neatly into his bag along with the Fire Stone and Icy Rock. Solid grabs, and not to mention that Skylar had two new stronger team members at his side. "Combuuuusken!" "Spewpew!" The two evolved Pokemon cheered in confidence, Mac running up to Skylar and offering a boastful pose of confidence to the young trainer, who returned it with pleasure. "Let's go! With a fighting type on you, we've got nothing to fear for quite a while!" Skylar smiled at the progress this group was making. No doubt the crew would be more than able to keep this momentum up going forward. Tomorrow's plight for a second badge looked great as it stood. Onto the more current problem, if you could call it that, the Hikers nearby were ready to rumble with Skylar's new teammates, and the boy was happy to deliver.
First up, against that Drilbur. Now, honestly, Skylar's team is lookin' pretty great right now, so we're actually gonna use this time to start hitting the Pokemon around here with the big guns of moves. Mac's coming out, at least for this first fight, and we're gonna waste no time and just go for the Double Kicks right out of the gate. Repeating those kicks until we take out the Drilbur. This Golett... not gonna lie, is the worst. Rollout decimates everything on this team but one specific bird, and Mac is already out, so we're working with basically nothing here for strategy on different mons, but we have Mac so that's good enough. Turn 1 we're outspeeding this thing for sure, so we're gonna start with a Sand-Attack and see if we can maybe get a little lucky. Turn 2 depends on if we can keep up that luck because we're going to try and whittle it down with Embers. Maybe we get lucky with a burn, but otherwise we're just going to Ember, hope we can maybe dodge some of these attacks, and get through this fight okay. - If Mac goes down, switch into Seabreeze and Water Pulse the rest of the way to victory. - If Seabreeze goes down, Paradise and Magical Leaf. Round 3 depends on two things, and can go two ways as a result. - If Mac is still up, we're just going for Double Kicks in hopes of taking this Roggenrola down quickly. 2 should be enough, not because of sturdy but because Roggenrola is friggin tanky. - If Mac goes down/is down, switch to Seabreeze and Water Pulse the way to victory. - If Seabreeze goes down, Paradise and Magical Leaf.

Assuming we have full team, we're starting this fight with Royal actually. Might not be the safest play, but Thundershock does good damage to this Kabuto I think. If the going gets rough for Royal, we're switching into Paradise and hitting this with a Magical Leaf to take it down swiftly. Cranidos next up, and we're probably gonna switch Royal out for Paradise if we haven't already. Simple fight, Magical Leaf and hopefully blast right through it in a single turn, maybe two. If we can't use Paradise, then we'll just pull out ol' reliable with Seabreeze and Water Pulse this boy, or Mac and Double Kick if Mac is still up and fighting. Lastly, another Drilbur. - Paradise with Magical Leaf, same as before. - Mac with Double Kick, unless he's down. - Seabreeze with Water Pulse, same as before.
Assuming that's where Skylar leaves the battles, we're going back to mining and training. Hopefully these battles go well, since Rollout as a move is completely destructive on his team.
