The Kingdom of Striostan, Striostani Empire, and the Republic of Striostan, with each era having profound effects on Striostani society as a whole. First up is the Kingdom of Striostan, the longest lasting era in Striostani history, enduring three-hundred or so years before its end. The early beginnings of Striostani society and civilization began with the consolidation of power of royalist rule by King Siro, who established the ethnic concept of Striostanis, within his holdings. First in a long line of kings and queens, the reign of Siro was most notable for setting up the customs, traditions, and religion (Iuduns) of Striostan, along with all the institutions during the Kingdom era. After the death of Siro, his son, Siro the Second, took over the throne. Siro II was known for his rapid expansion into nearby solar systems and the power curbing of the noble houses, forcing them to kneel before the central state. The death of Siro II came and went, and his daughter, Rhushomal, secured the reigns of power. The rule of Rhushomal was marked by a troublesome internal religious reformation war provoked by the rising discontent among the Iuduns priests, who believed that the central church was corrupt and abandoned the true teachings of Iuduns. The rebellion was quickly put down, but Rhushomal was forced to install popular reform or face more displeasures from the general population. This resulted in the freedom of worship, unbanning of different Iuduns sects, and installment of a decent welfare system, known as the True Faith Reform. The death of Rhushomal came, and sparked a civil war among her many sons. In the end, in an odd coincidence, Siro the Third, took hold of the central state. Siro the Third marks the ending of the Kingdom era and the transition into the Striostani Empire, with the Declaration of Empire by Siro the Third, now known as Emperor Siro the Third.
Striostani Empire
The Striostani Empire era is the shortest lived, yet eventful, era in the whole of Striostani history, with only ten years endured. Emperor Siro III went about the conquest of the Republic of Imnis, home to the people of Bresia, in a show of strength and territorial gain. After the annexation, the Bresian people were allowed to enjoy the same freedoms as their Striostani counterparts. After sometime, this minority were assimilated and a new designation followed, Striostani-Bresia. This would be the last successful assimilation done by the state of Striostan. Unknown to the Emperor, the conquest of Imnis brought home democratic ideals to the Striostani people. In hopes of more glory and power, SIro III pulled back the True Faith Reform set by Rhushomal, in order to fund new armies and navies to invade one of the core worlds known as the Sun Wars. Not surprisingly, it ended badly for Siro the Third. The war was lost and the people were angry at the loss of blood and their social system. Siro attempted to fix what he started, but an economic depression hit the Striostani economy in the aftermath of the lost capital in the war. Combined with the inability to produce a proper heir, some in the Siro’s count quickly became engulfed in radical ideals, such as republicanism and democratic rule. A writer, Lucio Farinelli, became a high profile figure near the end of the Striostani Empire era, advocating for such democratic ideals. Forseeing the end of his rule, Siro stepped down from his throne, and the first general elections were held. Lucio Farinelli won the elections in a landslide.
Republic of Striostan
The Republic of Striostan era brings us close to the modern era. After the elections, Lucio Farinelli became the first sitting president of the newly formed Republic of Striostan. In a short time, Lucio broke down all the old aristocratic institutions of the former Empire and Kingdom. He formed the National Assembly (a unicameral legislature), the Supreme Court, and the President’s Cabinet and its executive departments, in accordance with the ideals of republicanism and democratic rule, along with bringing back the True Faith Reform under a different name. Lucio Farinelli rulership marks a peaceful time within the early days of the Republic, and Lucio is remembered very fondly by future Striostani leaders and peoples. The few next elections would bring plenty of new presidents and with it brand new ideologies never seen before in the history of Striostan. Communists, socialists, liberals, conservatives, and others. The Democratic Justice Party, a progressive liberal party formed by those who wished to follow in the footsteps of Lucio, won the next few elections. Instability and internal factors lead to growing discontent from the military, who at this point did not really mess with the political system. All that changed when General Rosalba Giganti, a self proclaimed Morganellist, launched a coup against the Striostani government. Inturn, General Medoro Roccaforte rose up in the name of nationalism to fight Giganti. After some years of brutal fighting, Eliodoro Armando, another general, rose up and quickly fought both generals and won. In the aftermath, Eliodoro Armando formed the United Striostani Party and ran for the next elections, winning in a massive landslide because of his actions. The 5th president of the Republic soon became the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and the 10th president of the Republic, running uncontested for 30 years together with the United Striostani Party. Cracks started to form in the United Striostani Party after 30 years of long rule by Armando, and the people were happy enough to elect someone less authoritarian. Glauco Scarfo, who was a part of the Democratic Justice Party, was elected to power. Glauco’s grand plans made the Republic start to liberalize both politically and economically. This brought the nation some major forgein investment but the unwanted kind.
The Striostani Corporate War
The Corporate War was not an actual war, but a term to describe the rapid take over of the corporate world in the Republic of Striostan by outside corporate power known as Akaromi BioCorp, a subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. With the liberalized economic reforms enacted by Glauco, KHI saw an opportunity to insert themselves in, and formed Akaromi BioCorp (ABC) for the job. By the usage of the vast wealth and power afforded by KWI, Akaromi BioCorp was able to quickly buy out small-time farmers and companies. Any officials suspicious of the creeping power of ABC were bribed and backroom deals done to ensure that no one understood what was really going on. A low profile was kept and ABC was happy enough to simply buy out more and more Argi-world farmland. Once big enough, things got more complex as ABC formed agri-shell companies to avoid attention to itself. To save you a long-story, by the efforts of massive lobbying and likewise, ABC (and thus KWI) managed to secure itself against the central state by the loopholes and liberal economy of the Republic to hold a massive monopoly on agri-land and food processing factories.

The Striostani economy heavily relies on its agricultural sector as its primary area for national growth and exports. The second largest economic sector is food processing, closely rivaling the Striostani agricultural sector in size and importance. The third most important economic sector is resource extraction, followed by heavy industry (the fourth largest economic sector). Resource extraction is a decently large economic area, but it cannot rival the agricultural sector in any-way possible in terms of size and exports. The heavy industry sector is the smallest economic area in the Striostani economy and barely factors in the overall Striostani economic reports. Given the highly underdeveloped heavy industrial sector of the Striostani economy, foodstuffs (both raw and processed) and raw resources are the largest exports. Unable to properly meet demands for heavy machines, mechanical parts, tools, and likewise, the Striostani economy is forced to import vast amounts of said goods, or be faced with a shortage of mechanical parts/tools and heavy industrial machines, and thus halting agricultural and processed food production. Given what was said, the Republic of Striostan is the largest producer of foodstuffs and luxury foods. In the aftermath of the Striostani Corporate War, Akaromi BioCorp (a subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries) owns 89% of the farmland on Agri-worlds (on average) and 95% of all food processing facilities in Striostan.

The governmental system of Striostan is not hard to understand from the surface level. The Legislative is the National Assembly, a unicameral body where seats are given, based on a proportional system instead of a “Winner Takes All” ordeal. Next is the Executive with the president acting as the head of Striostani main executive departments and agencies. Lastly is the Judicial, where power is vested in the Supreme to evaluate the constitutional laws, whenever they show up in the highest courts. That is all you need to know for now. The real complexity is when we look deeper into the legal system itself, but that is another topic for another day.

84% Human | 16% Xeno

The Striostani Armed Forces are the military forces of the Republic of Striostan. It consists of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force. The overall state of the Striostani Armed Forces is lacking. All their equipment is quite old and outdated, but still functional at least. So, the general staff uses what they have and don’t complain too much about having decades old items and ships. Of course, the old tech is a big drawback, but leadership makes do as said before. The Striostani navy relies on simple brute force tactics. Given how old and outdated their ships are, leadership can’t do anything fancy in general tactics. Ships are protected by blocks upon blocks of armor and shields, a safety and necessary measure to get in close, as a lot of Striostani naval weaponry don’t have range or the targeting software to do long-range combat. Thankfully these weapons, while hella old, do quite the damage when in range. The ground forces are another matter wholly, but still fitted with old tech. The only reason that their ground forces are still a “decent” fighting force is because of the experienced Striostani general staff.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries, or better known as just Kawasaki, has its beginning after two former Japanese-senators (Izumo Yura & Ushioda Shiho) in New Memphis were forced to leave the senate since it was then disabled for one reason or another, and decided to establish their own corporation. Out here in New Memphis, anything goes. The laws and rules are loose and credits don’t print themselves. At first, Kawasaki started out by selling and offering custom-made EXP-VR sex games and the likes. Gonna get credits somehow and sex sells damn well in the market of Memphis. Once capital and credits was enough, Kawasaki branched out to include other markets to ensure the steady flow of credits to the corporation. A rising demand of heavy industrial goods and tooling became a lucrative market as new startups and companies were being formed left and right, just like Kawasaki. In a non-surprising turn of events, Kawasaki invested and got a couple of small workshops to pump out whatever industrial tooling and machines that would sell on the market. The investment paid out and gave more profits to Kawasaki. Of course, Izumo Yura & Ushioda Shiho wanted more profits and power from the corporation and so went into technological R&D as well. Business boomed and Kawasaki grew larger and larger by the year. But as you grow larger, you start to gather the attention of bigger players, and trouble struck Kawasaki after a raid on one of its factories was done. A warning by a rival. To fix their issue, Kawasaki hired out a local security firm to protect their property. But as operations got bigger, Kawasaki needed a more permanent solution to their issues. Instead of using forgein firms to protect them, Kawasaki simply made their own security subsidiary and cybercorp to ensure that their profits will not harm from raids, attacks, and NET hacks. The harassment stopped and things were fine for a while, but things were only brewing and tensions soon rose over a certain issue.
The First Corporate War
Remember Kawasaki’s startup in the porn industry? Well, a new emerging porn corporation (SEXX Inc. as it is offical registered in the books) was quickly growing and soon out stripped Kawasaki in the sex sence. SEXX made threats to Kawasaki to backoff its market and Izumo Yura responded with a highly worded letter, which contents can be accurately summed up to “Fuck you.” SEXX launched an attack on a Kawasaki studio and Kawasaki returned the favor right back at them. Tesison rose and things escalated fast. This would be any other small-time corporate war between two decently corporate powers, but things quickly got more complex from there. SEXX was actually a subsidiary of a larger corporation known as Alstorm, an automotor company. It was “two against one” and Kawasaki felt threatened. Luckily, Alstorm had their fair share of rivals and said rivals, Siemens and Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist, joined into the war. Alstorm, not wanting to be ganged up like this, also called up the rivals of their rivals, BPER Banca and Credito Emiliano, promising to give them whatever reminds of the profits and loot from the war. More and more corporate powers got caught up in the war, and soon a major corporate war broke out in New Memphis. Major battles and street fights occurred all throughout New Memphis. Freelance mercs also got into the fun as the war dragged out in the second year. Kawasaki was losing ground and needed an end to the war, or else their banks would be empty by the end of next year. Kawasaki hired a lonesome merc, Buke, to plant a tactical nuclear bomb in the main HQ of Alstorm. Assisting Buke would be a large multi-divisional assault on the Alstorm HQ, with Tsunami Defense Systems, the premier security subsidiary of Kawasaki, at the helm of said assault. In a turn of luck, Buke did actually manage to get into the Alstorm HQ and set off the bomb. In a few days, all the corporate powers in the war met up in a massive summit to sign a white peace. There was also a quick ban to the usage of nuclear bombs in New Memphis set by the central AI as well after war to avoid the risk of murdering the planet altogether.
The Second Corporate War
A few decades passed and everything was back to normal, relatively speaking. Yet a new corporate war was building up on the horizon. A massive land dispute was ongoing between Kawasaki and Saras S.p.A out in the frontier sector. A ungodly deposit of Psionium was found on the empty planet of Ken Six. A settlement could not be reached and both corporate powers saw that there was no other way to settle this peacefully, not with profits and power always involved. Of course, other corporate powers got involved since this was not normal vein of Psionium, and that amount could sell high on the market, or be used for big R&D projects. Two corporate power blocs soon formed in the early start of the war. The Kawasaki Bloc and Saras Bloc, with their own series of allies and partners. The Second Corporate War only lasted for some three months, but was highly intense. In the first week of fighting, two hundred thousand had died from the usage of new technology and methods of conducting warfare out on the planet of Ken Six. Meanwhile in New Memphis, a corporate shadow war was ongoing with a large amount of hired out mercs being used in said shadowy war. Teams of highly trained corporate special operations teams and smaller bands of army units fought in the streets and underbelly of New Memphis. By the end of it, the Kawasaki Bloc emerged as the winners of the war, and reaped their rewards from it. For Kawasaki’s part, they managed to forcefully take over a large amount of smaller and medium companies, and integrate them into the wider network of Kawasaki’s subsidiaries, or into the main company itself. Ken Six was also taken and then divided among the allies of Kawasaki, with Kawasaki taking up the largest sum of the Psionium-rich land.
The Striostani Corporate War
Who has thought that a Japanese mega-corporation would ever own Eden's main food supply? Well, that happened and Kawasaki now owns and operates the largest agri-corp in the whole of Eden. It all started with the Republic of Striostan. Their economy was undergoing massive overhauls and general liberalization. Kawasaki saw an opportunity to secure a new market. Akaromi BioCorp was formed as a subsidiary and was given the task of taking over the argi-worlds in Striostan. Given the flawed nature of the Republic, Akaromi had a decent time in buying up small-family farms and companies. Sadly, it was not New Memphis with its bare minimum of laws concerning corporations, and so it took a bit more longer, along with sizable lobbying to keep the monopoly train rolling out in Striostan. By the end of it, Akaromi became the premier shipper of foodstuffs and luxury foods since it owned about 89% of the farmland on Agri-worlds and 95% of all food processing facilities in Striostan.
Today
Izumo Yura & Ushioda Shiho now oversee one of the largest and most powerful interstellar multinational corporate empires in the whole of Eden, with operations in many other nations. They’re everywhere and their products are often unrivaled by most corporations, say for one or two corporations that might be on the same level of power of Kawasaki.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries is a major player in the realm of economical concerns. Kawasaki’s operations on New Memphis alone brings ungodly amounts of wealth and industry by itself. Combined with operations and bases out in other nations, KWI is able to rival the economics and activity of large nations in Eden. Kawasaki has their hands everywhere and most often in the deepest pockets of certain people in certain nations. Wealth, power, industry, and likewise, fuels Kawasaki as they always seek ways to generate more industry and profits for themselves. KWI has a wide network of subsidiaries that range from porn, toys, banking, and whatever other industry you can name. They have it.

In order to protect its property and interest as a mega-corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries owns multiple security subsidiaries. Those subsidiaries are most commonly nicknamed “ArmaCorps” for their high level of organization and lethal nature, rivaling that of nations. Tsunami Defense Systems is the largest and most important of the security subsidiaries, and are often at the forefront of major operations for Kawasaki. Given that Kawasaki’s wide network of security firms is not a nation and cannot muster up the same manpower or the same nationalist duty that a state can, they instead have given into the saying of “quality over quantity.” As an example, Tsunami Defense Systems (TDS) has some of the best and most hardened ground units in the whole of Eden, with highly advanced technology to back them up. With what little manpower they have, TDS is forced to use advanced munitions and aircraft to simply bomb the living hell of its enemy before a major assault can be done. For TDS ships, they’re also highly advanced technological marvels, but very costly to make and maintain. Advances in point-point warp teleportation have allowed TDS ships to quickly enter into visual range of enemy ships and blast away. As you can see, the standard naval doctrine for TDS is to warp in fast and get into range quickly to engage to rip away ships with highly costly munitions.

Izumo Yura, CEO and Founder of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ushioda Shiho, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer
