It all started with a dream. A dream that showed him - proved to him - that God was real and that he was chosen to do something greater than any man. A dream that screamed a story of agony and death, of painful destruction, of the world ending around him. He was to be a modern Noah. He was to usher the people of this world into a new age, just as the dream said. There wasn’t a part of it he didn’t believe.

That was five years ago. 

Never before had Father McCarthy had such a dream. He saw Heaven and Hell both, the doors closing as the amount of souls trickling in came to an overwhelming number. God and Lucifer themselves said no more, and shut out the world the Father and his flock inhabited completely. Such action would not go unnoticed.

It was at this moment that the dead would be dead no longer. The moment they would pass, their souls would slam back into their bodies, but something would change. They would cry tears of blood, their veins would blacken as their skin turned white. They would rise, hungry for blood and flesh. Attacking everyone they came into contact with, they would spread like fire as they killed, until there was nothing left of the human population. They would destroy everything in a matter of months. 

Father McCarthy knew what he needed to do.

Taking it upon himself to save those that lived around him, the man had five years to do all that he needed to do to save the people of Chicago. He would do whatever he needed to in the time he had to save them. To save you.[hr]
Hello and welcome to my zombie survival roleplay. Getting over my fear of Zombies has made me completely and utterly obsessed with them, with me consuming any and all zombie media (although I’m still too afraid to play Resident Evil), and ultimately leading me to want to host a zombie RP! I’m thinking that this RP will be more designed to be user run, with almost all events and story progression happening by user and character made ideas.

There will eventually be a discord made for OOC chatter, so plots, ideas, and character progression can be discussed.

[*]Post limit is probably going to be once every two weeks or once a month. While I’d like to keep the ball rolling, I know that people have lives, and even I struggle with posting often.
[*]RPG site rules trump these ones.
[*]This is going to be a gorey and violent RP. Please be aware of that when coming into it. Since this is also more of an adult situation, cursing is going to happen. Rating this PG-13.
[*]Keep IC drama to IC, and resolve OOC drama before it becomes a problem. 
[*]If you need to take a leave of absence, or feel like you’re not interested in this RP anymore, that’s ok! Let me know, we can do something with your character as you see fit.

[*]Any ideas goes for the plot and drama, as long as it falls into the aspect of the modern world. So no vampires/werewolves or fantasy elements, to start off with. (Who knows if things will change later we'll see).

Below is a list of things to pick from to create our zombies. Feel free to throw this in your interested post, so we can get some votes started!

As I’m trying to make this a user-run RP, I want there to be a consensus on what the zombies are like. There are a whole bunch of different pieces of media we can select from, or combine pieces from things to make our own. We also don’t need to just contain each zombie to one type. There can be mutations, so zombies could change over time, or could have different traits among them. The one thing that i’m going to stick with is that the only way to kill them is to completely remove the head from the body, burn the body, or shoot the brain.

[u]Pace[/u]
Runners - Fast and deadly. One zombie can be a lot to handle, and it’s easy to be overwhelmed if there’s more than one.
Walkers - Slow and easily avoided. One zombie can be easily handled, but hordes are a problem.

[u]Infection[/u]
Everyone is infected with this plague, so no matter when they die, they’ll turn. We need to decide what the zombie can do to kill them faster. This is subject to change. If people don’t want everyone to be infected, then we won’t do that. Let me know.
	[u]Transmission type[/u]
Bite only - Only being bitten will cause you to become infected.
Scratch and Bite - Any type of wound created by one of the infected can infect another person.
Bodily Fluids - Swallowing blood from a zombie could infect a person.

	[u]Quickness of Infection[/u] - How fast someone that is infected turns
Death - Can only turn when an infected person dies. Usually happens within minutes.
Within Minutes - A person bitten will turn in a batter of minutes after being bitten.
Unknown - It doesn’t matter when you’ve died, you will eventually come back ranging from minutes to hours as long as your brain is still intact. 

[u]Senses[/u]
All sense dulled - Sense of smell, hearing and sight are low. Easy to hide from.
Dulled Sight and/or hearing - easier to hide from.
Dulled Sight, heightened hearing - Shh gotta be quiet.
Dulled Hearing, heightened Sight - Stay out of sight.
Heightened Everything - We’re all doomed. 

[u]Weaknesses[/u] 
Fire - I’m probably going to make this one happen anyways. Maybe we can mutate some zombies to be resistant to fire though.
Darkness - Would probably go along with Dulled Sight, but these zombies have a hard time seeing at night. Bright lights will still draw them though.
Light - The opposite of zombies affected by Darkness, these zombies are blinded by bright lights. Generally hidden during the day, but swarm at night.
