[@Vampiretwilight][@spiral origin] Personally, I'd try to work within the established parameters. Not literally elves, magically immortal, flawless beings of fae descent. Rather, a human kingdom that developed advanced medicine, extending their lives past what any other kingdom was capable. It could be that pointed ears is a side effect of the process, or perhaps it's just a cosmetic choice on part of the wealthy and fashionable. That's what I'd do, but if you want to add actual, fantasy elves to the world, that's fine too. The real thing to consider is which "door" to open. If you let an elf in, dwarves, gnomes, and all other fantasy creatures will follow. On the other hand, let in someone who's technology has made them less human, and you let in cyborgs, psychics, and all sorts of science experiments. Or you could just say "No, humans only." If you wanted to keep it simple.
