Ehhh, I kind of like having PMs for PMs. That is to say personal messages. 

We do have a spot where contest mods can draw attention to contests. I would think the simplest solution would be to just make a few more spots like that on the sidebar. Though I confess I am not aware what the code looks like, so I dunno how viable that would be.
