Gengar would wait near the pokemon center doorway. He was glancing around. He kept an eye on things. He also kept an eye on the pokemon in question as they were being brought in. 

Within another ten minutes or so, Sarah would arrive at the pokemon center. The gengar would follow her as she went inside. He stayed close. Sarah did her best to check in on those pokemon and make sure they were ok.
