The thrusters and repulsors were firing off randomly, the suit was flinging her arms and legs about in odd directions, and she didn't have time to regain control before her legs were rotated into a position so quickly that both of them broke. Tears instantly sprung to her eyes as she screamed in pain. "God fucking damn it! Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!!" Guin roared, hardly able to think. She was moving on more instinct than design as she quickly activated emergency sequences, barely able to regain control of her armor. Her legs were a fountain of pain - no, not a fountain, more of a river of lava. She felt like Vader at the end of the Prequel Trilogy. "Loki is here. Right side of the Statue when you're looking at it from the jet." She spoke telepathically into the minds of everyone on their side, her telepathic voice hardly able to disguise the immense pain that she was in. Sweat was pouring down her forehead as she tried to focus and concentrate. She wished she had morphine. She knew that she wouldn't be able to get the good painkillers for obvious reasons, but damn it, it was hard to think and fight like this! Still, there was at least one other thing she needed to do before taking out her anger on Loki - Don't freak out, I'm fine, she told Pietro. Her armor was the only thing keeping her standing. She targeted Loki and blasted him with her uni-beam at full power, a powerful beam of energy exploding from the arc reactor that powered her Iron Star armor. It hardly did anything to Loki - he just brushed it off. IT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE YOU ARE FINE!!!!!!! I said not to freak out! Guin replied, using pretty much the pure adrenaline of fighting Loki in order to focus through the pain. Kind of hard not to!!!!!

Neil Spellman

Location: Liberty Island Skills: N/A
Neil wished that Bethany and Pietro had managed to clear out the crowd from inside already, but they hadn't yet. There were still innocent people here and it was so hard to see through the crowd. He didn't spot Loki until well after Carolina had and his face paled, especially as Loki threw what he assumed to be grenades at them. Neil kicked at the strange balls, suddenly blessed with the skills of an elite athlete! The strange devices spewing green gaseous smoke went outside of the state and into the outdoor area.... where they would be someone else's problem. "Carolina? Are you okay? What's going on?" Neil asked instantly, incredibly confused as to why Carolina was laughing uncontrollably. The green smoke had caused him to reevaluate his first idea that these were grenades - poison seemed more likely, but why would that make Carolina giggle so much? Neil felt completely fine and normal too. He didn't even have a slight headache or anything that would seem like a warning sign to him of imminent death. He then heard Guin's voice inside of his head, giving directions as to where the real Loki was supposedly. He could tell that she was in pain. This was all going horribly, he knew it, he wished that he and Carolina and Annie had just stayed at the X-Mansion and let the others go deal with this.
Runa knew that Loki was trying to get a rise out of her - it was what he did. He played with people's emotions - and Runa had always been an easy target for that. She was trying her best not to be, not to show the look of pain on her face as Loki berated her. His words were like venom daggers in her back. The more she tried not to think about them, the harder it became. She was only stopped from going down a train of self destructive thoughts when one of the Midgardians spoke telepathically to her, informing her as to where the real Loki was. She definitely was just as dramatic as her uncle though, as Runa stepped to the back of the torch, spread out her arms, and free fell backwards. Her plan had been to use her powers of darkness manipulation to slow her fall at the last second, but it didn't happen like that. Instead, she went smack against the ground. Her Asgardian durability kept her from getting more than scratches and bruises though, as she picked herself up, trying to look like she meant to do it that way.
