I spent a large chunk of the year not roleplaying because y'know, it was fucking 2020, so its difficult to say whether I've improved in my writing or whatever. I was happy with what I was doing at the start of year, then I went on hiatus, and to be honest I'm less happy with how I'm writing right now. Hopefully I can more or less get back to where I was before. I also think my solo writing hasn't improved much this year, mainly through a lack of practice. Next year I would like to GM something again. It has been a while, and I think I've had time to reflect one why past GMing experiences haven't worked out so well for me and particularly why I've burned out so fast GMing previously. What I've realised is that I really dislike running and managing large-ish groups, whether that be here on the guild, over the table top or doing literally anything else in my real, online or work life. So none of that anymore. Four characters max with a streamlined story and a limited time frame. That's what I want. EDIT: Oh and no more GM PCs in group RPs. Not doing that anymore either, didn't realise how weird it was till I got into table top and I've seen RPs on the guild manage just fine without one now, so I'm not doing it anymore. It's enough work running the story and the being world, why give yourself the extra work of running a character?
