Name: Sanura (meaning “Kitten”) Title(s): Imperial Gravekeeper D: “The Drought” Appearance:

Gender: Female Age: Twenty-Eight Years Old. Previous Alignment(s): Sahara Gravekeepers. Motivation for the Holy Grail: Pharaoh’s Return // Pharaoh’s Eternal Rest. Personality: From a young age, Sanura displayed a tendency to give in to curiosity and transgress the rules. This adventurous spirit, coupled with her innate talent, make of her a daring individual even in the present date. In spite of her isolated upbringing, she can recognize and operate modern artifacts and some vehicles with little to no practice. Though some inventions manage to earn a compliment or two, she claims that most of society’s achievements, past and present, have been long surpassed by Egyptian technology. At first glance, Sanura gives the impression of a peace-seeking individual, going as far as to ask opponents to leave fighting for another time, or even sparing the life of a defeated Master provided she does not feel they represent a threat. Though some consider her a monster given her high aptitude for slaughter, she retains a level of humility and is not overly arrogant about her strength, acknowledging others for what they are worth. Even so, underneath that relaxed and easy-going facade, hides the soul of a witty demon and a tool for killing, someone who was born empty and was later filled with a program to follow, much like a robot or an homunculus. This means she can be merciless and cruel when she needs to be, and that she is bound to a code of conduct that she will respect even when it does not align with her personal preferences. Because it is the part of her which has given her meaning up to this point, it cannot be easily discarded. At the same time, within her heart exists a great amount of self-loathing for not being to fully abandon it, as it stands as the biggest obstacle between the normal life she desires and her. Such is the case that, instead of asking for it to scatter with the winds so she can grow wings, she wishes to give it a proper burial, in order to honor the ancestors that have come before her. Biography: A former gravekeeper that has grown tired of waiting. However, instead of letting go of her own lifestyle in order to enjoy freedom, she sets on a final journey to give her family’s duty a proper closure, a wish that can only be brought to life by an artifact with equal or greater strength as the Holy Grail. Trained from an extremely young age, the core values that were engraved into Sanura are fundamentally different from that of a modern Magus. As such, Magecraft is not a means to pursue the truth, but rather a way to communicate with the Gods. Selfish ambition is thrown aside, as personal growth is motivated solely by the obligation to be prepared to face the “Pharaoh” upon their return, a tale described in a prophecy that might never come to be. Whereas Modern Magi have just begun to complement their Magecraft with physical training, for Sanura, that has been a requirement from the start, and it wouldn’t be a mistake to assume that her talent in this area is just as outstanding as her understanding of the Egyptian Arts. Her family has always been in good terms with the Institute of Atlas because of their Egyptian descendants. While the alchemist and the gravekeepers keep to themselves, hiding within their own personal territories, they share similar views in regards to necessary regulations and so it’s not uncommon for them to rely on one another when someone decides to abandon their cause. Considered a traitor for the sole reason of leaving the tombs under her care, Sanura had to clash against numerous assassins before and after her arrival at Budapest. You could say she has been given the equivalent of a Sealing Designation, except it’s more akin to a Death Sentence.
Elemental Affinity: Earth Magic Circuit Switch: The feeling of being burned alive. Number of Magic Circuits: Very Low. Quality of Magic Circuits: Low
Egyptian Magecraft: A group of disciplines practiced in ancient Egypt that range from curses, necromancy and spiritual evocation, to architecture and medicine. Although the decline in Magic Circuit quality and quantity seen in the past couple of generations can’t be ignored, Sanura being no exception, she still stands as a formidable Magus nonetheless, a combination of acquired experience and raw talent making up for a poor inheritance.

Architecture: An exceptional gift for navigating, planning, building and fortifying large structures, Sanura’s magecraft can be applied even to the ‘inferior’ buildings of modern human civilization, allowing her to identify and locate threats, find and/or reinforce weak spots or successfully install concealed traps in territories that do not belong to her. This knowledge can be applied on a smaller scale to the appraisal and manipulation of objects for the creation of charms and talismans.
Medicine: Competence comparable to an ancient priestess, advisors and doctors knowledgeable in the application of magecraft. Though it’s a practice that can very well produce ‘miracles’, its application within the field of battle is heavily restricted, where it is purely used as a last resort to keep the body working. With the right location and materials, as well as a suitable working space, Sanura can utilize it to its full potential. Through a combination of herbology, necromancy and spiritual surgery, your life is in good hands.
Spiritual Evocation: Though Sanura is more than capable of performing Spiritual Evocation on her own, her poor reserves make her a poor match for this sort of magecraft. However, with the assistance of her Mystic Code, the spirits can bestow upon her a powerful blessing.
Necromancy: A balanced compendium of spells that include both the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’, the former of which can be applied to medicine to an extent, being able to recover lost senses and temporarily utilize recently departed body-parts as if they were still under one’s control, regardless of whether they still remain attached to the main body. The other side of the spectrum is composed by a wide array of curses which either weaken or immediately inflict ‘death’ upon the target, albeit the resistance of mages makes it a somewhat rare occurrence. It is worth noting that her skill with curses and necromancy in general is such that she can not just easily fend off curses thrown her way, but also dispel active curses and even send them back at their casters. Had she been born with a better set of Magic Circuits, it wouldn’t be daring to claim that she would stand toe to toe with the greatest curse mages the east side of the world boasts.
Magic Crest: The Magecraft legacy present on the Magic Crest is engraved on the first born male child of the family, thus Sanura receives no artificial help from her ancestors. Equipment: Various Ritualistic Mystic Codes: Several tools that are small, easy to carry and yet are usually left in one’s workshop. Their main purpose is to conduct rituals or medical surgeries. Naturally, they are all Egyptian-themed. Also several human and animal body parts and organs, meant to be used for necromantic purposes. Self-Replicating Needles: They can be used for acupuncture, but mostly they are used as throwing weapons. Though the damage they can inflict is negligible in comparison to other options such as knives or arrows, they are light, fast and hard to see. In the hands of a good wielder, they can be used to quickly and silently incapacitate an opponent. Although, if you are seriously thinking of killing those who stand in your way, imbuing them with poison is also a good choice. What makes this product popular is the ability to multiply, triggered by coming in direct contact with the user’s Magical Energy. The price you pay for a nearly limitless supply of these is incredibly low for the utility it offers. White Haori: An incredibly versatile mystic code that bestows the user with a blessing from the Sky God, enabling a form of mobility that resembles flying, but it is more like “walking on air”. It emulates specific air-based spells without the need for magical sustenance, allowing the user to find footing where there is none. In addition, it works as a charm that fends off magecraft fired at the user with ill-intent, so long as it is below two verses. Black Kosode and Black Hakama: Another of Sanura’s inventions, a mystic code which may look like a “normal” set of garments, but it actually contains evil spirits inside. It’s used to repeatedly curse an opponent during a physical confrontation. Even if the enemy is a skilled exorcist, the disadvantage can be circumvented by keeping them under a rain of blows. Though it is normally used to merely weaken the opponent, making them feel sick and exhausted within a short period of time, it holds a particularly dangerous group of spirits which can be awakened with the proper command, though their power is limited due to their inability to break the seal. They are vampiric entities which have the ability to ‘plunder’. In this case, what they plunder is liquid. A normal person hit by these will immediately turn into a dehydrated corpse. Even if the target possesses resistance, certain unprotected body parts such as the hands and feet can be left in an unrecoverable state after enough exposure, so it is not to be taken lightly. Finally, even if one escapes with little injuries, the effects of dehydration will persist for several hours.

An organization that dates back to Ancient Egypt, it was formed with the purpose to preserve and protect pharaonic tombs from external threats such as graverobbers. Because of a prophetic tale that tells that the "Great Pharaoh" will make a glorious return, their duties extend to the present time. The Sahara Gravekeepers are an isolated group composed of several families, all with ancient roots. Because they very rarely recruit outsiders into their ranks, it is common for them to practice incestous relationships. Their existence is wrapped in darkness and they work very much like assassins, so only a select organizations know for certain of their existence. They are in good terms with the Atlas Institute since its conception and from time to time they do assist each other, or rather, they work together to see that no problems arise within the region. The Sahara Gravekeepers, however, do not care much about the future or the end of humanity as a whole. Their faith in their Gods and leaders extends beyond what a calculated prediction can tell them, and these values are engraved into their children at a very young age, together with a physical training meant to teach them how to handle themselves not just against human enemies, but those that have ceased to be so. They are also taught Magecraft that follows a different purpose from that of the traditional Magi, and thus can be both more powerful and more dangerous to anyone who gets involved with it. In ages past, many powerful Gravekeepers would use this esoteric discipline to dominate their foes, however, inbreeding has led to a degradation in circuits that becomes more noticeable with each passing generation. A gravekeeper is taught not to live on their own desires, but to live for the Gods and the Pharaoh. Their Magecraft is, in essence, a way to pay tribute to those figures, rather than a means to fulfill one's ambitions. They are empty toy soldiers who rarely get to see the world. That's why, every now and then, a few attempt to escape this life of solitude. Even fewer succeed.

A specialized branch of structural analysis that is meant to be applied on large structures or magical constructs. It helps understand the layout that surrounds the caster by quickly gathering all the information needed. It can be compared to being handed a mental blueprint of the area, but in truth it is more than simply an image. Once all is understood, navigation and reinforcement becpme significantly easier. Very rare to see in this day and age given how specialized it is. There exist several other methods for tracking and hardly amyone concerns themselves past the basics of fortress management in the modern era. Still, it remains a powerful tool that can be used to perform feats such as sneaking past a bounded field without being detected or fortifying a base of operations to endure more punishment than it normally would with the help of other schools of Magecraft.
